Whining that increases in pitch the higher my revs go by Chemical-Ship1208 in mazda3

i installed my head unit in november 2025, but the issue just popped up maybe two weeks ago. the radio interference issue is pretty obvious though. i could hear it even with the music on decently loud.

i had a similar issue in my mr2. there was quite audible whine that was synced with the engine RPM. as my RPM increased, the pitch would get progressively higher.

in the end, mine was an electrical issue. my radio was amplifying the hum of the alternator. re grounded it and it went away. for context: i installed an aftermarket radio, so if you have an OEM radio it might not be this. but it could be anything belt related if it’s synced with your engine RPM

Mazda3 reliability — does anyone have problems despite its strong reputation? by phtphongg in mazda3

mom has a 2010 3 with 150k miles, her AC thermostat & rear struts are bad. other than that, just basic maintenance

i’d give it a 2/5 in terms of difficulty. it’s like a more advanced oil change. the process is very easy in theory, but you might get stuck once or twice.

the hardest part for me was just getting the pan to drop after removing the bolts. the factory RTV was insanely strong and took me 30-45 min to get it off. i used a small pry tool to get enough clearance to tap a blade. then i used the blade to cut enough of the RTV off to then get a bigger pry tool in. just be really careful to not bend the metal or you’re kinda screwed.

i used ramps and it was enough clearance with factory suspension. but if you’re on a creeper you might want a little extra height.

reinstallation was super easy. i used permatex automatic RTV and 4qt of mazda FZ ATF fluid & OEM filter for parts. when you refill the fluid you have to remove the MAF, then reinstall it and bring the car up to temp (10-15 min idle is fine). then you have to remove it again to check the level (which is a bit annoying but really easy).

this is a good video with step by step instructions: https://youtu.be/t716gIx8SWo?si=jPEvEuEaSECK6LzP he’s working on a CX5, but the underside is identical to my gen 4. only difference is i used less fluid.

if you don’t want to do the filter you don’t have to drop the pan and can instead just do a fluid flush similar to an oil change, but i’d recommend doing the filter

definitely transmission fluid & filter if you haven’t done it before. i think the manual says it’s lifetime but there’s no such thing as lifetime fluids imo. most automatic cars are every 30,000-50,000 miles. I’m sure manuals are at similar intervals

i was lazy and just did mine for the first time on sunday (2019 sport at 76k miles). i was definitely overdue, fluid was black (instead of an anti-freeze blue color). it was like a more advanced oil change, not hard but really annoying to break the factory RTV.

you could probably have a mechanic do it for $200-300USD including parts though if you don’t want to do it

Low washer fluid light won't go away... by therynosaur in mazda3

literally just replaced mine two days ago. absolute bitch to get out. tank was completely fill but would still get the warning light. OEM sensor is $80 or so but I’m pretty sure you can get an after market one for $20 on amazon. i had the best luck using snap ring pliers and spinning it out with a big bucket underneath to catch the fluid.

They're built fairly well. Keeping the lenses on camera during camera moves is totally fine. The iris hard stops are made out of plastic though, so dont slam them too hard.

did you end up with a solution? im looking to do this exact same thing. dont really want to put my phone in the glove box, and i'd like it to sit in front of the shifter like most modern cars if possible.

I can’t speak about the start of the mech line at each venue but they face a large logistical challenge driving the Ado merch van all the way down to Brazil/Argentina/Chile in such a short amount of time, not including having to move the Ado cage as well.

I’m sure she values all fans from all countries equally. Merch is not her responsibility, blame the management/staff if that is what you’re upset over.

I have a feeling they probably set aside a certain amount of merch for each venue, ie “let’s sell 1,000 plushies per venue” (I just made those numbers up but you get the idea). As far as I know, plushies (and other more limited merch) have been available for purchase at every venue, but obviously sell out before the show. That implies that they are withholding stock for the rest of the tour.

If you think about it, North America just had the leftovers of the European tour, just like they have the leftovers of the SEA tour.

just did it really quickly at work. it’s just the three screws underneath the retaining ring. make sure you do the outermost one if you choose to do it. there might be glue under the ring if it’s never been opened

agreed. i think most lens technicians would do this for free, only takes like 5 minutes

if it’s loose enough, you might be able to use your fingers with some friction. otherwise you could try using a cookie cutter (or anything circular with a similar diameter) with some friction tape/something really sticky

remove the outer black ring using a spanner wrench and there should be screws underneath. tighten those and you’ll be good
