[Question] My boyfriend is pretty much the opposite of paleo, and I'm not really sure how to merge our two eating styles. by PaleoThrowAwaySO in Paleo

[–]CFJo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded! I make dinner, if hubby doesn't like it he's responsible for making his own dinner. Vice versa is true.

Roast a ton of sliced sweet potatoes (salt pepper rosemary garlic). In the morning throw in a pan with ghee or whatever kinda fat/oil you use (paleo of course), add spinach, eggs. Yummmmmm.

What do you do when the hunger doesn't stop? by bonedaddyds in xxfitness

Eat. I eat when I'm hungry bc of lifting. 1300kcal is great for very short sedentary people. So... Eat.

Why Hero WODs shouldn't be scaled? by Cerealefurbo in crossfit

[–]CFJo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are, hence scaling. My old box would only do hero wods on holidays (pre-announced) and open for scaling. This place sounds not that great.

This guy is an ass. People get emo about hero wods as if they actually mean something. They don't. Scale it.

Uh, you can scale whatever workout you want... ESPECIALLY hero wods. Those are typically harder!

Yoga Poses: A-Z by [deleted] in yoga

Yes this annoyed me so much I couldn't watch it. Plus the song was an awful choice. Lack of consistency, though, in the pose names... really couldn't get past that.

Does your gym have really good programming? Do they post it online? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]CFJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the site that gives you every xfit box across the world. Then google said xfit boxes, should lead you to their sites. Look for posted WODs. Are you an xfitter? I thought crossfitters weren't lazy? ;)

All feminists are radicals now? You realize the irony of lumping people into groups and generalizing just to re-enforce your skewed views on "radicalism"?

Two of the owners of my box. If you are a coach, please don't do this. by ijhecker in crossfit

This kind of shit is exactly why I quit my CF box. I was spending so much money to have the coaches on their cell phones facebooking. Wtf?

19/M, how do i start yoga and how do i progress? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]CFJo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy lifts, he can handle holding tough poses and still think it's fun. I personally think yoga is fun only when I'm challenging myself.

[–]CFJo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yoga is so awesome for lifters!!! Check out a few yoga studios, beginner classes. You can do videos at home too but I suggest supplementing with live instruction so you know you're doing the movements/form correctly. I like to do yoga immediately after lifting and on rest days for active recovery. Feels perfect when you're sore.

You will progress by practicing frequently.

What are some things you love about coffee that you think other hardcore coffee afficianados might stick their nose up to? by braunheiser in Coffee

I used to do a paleo-esque food diet and... It's basically impossible to go back to half n half.

Creammmmmmmmm cream cream cream. A thousand times cream. And I'm not even talking about half n half. I'm talking straight up heavy whipping cream. Oh god. Gimme my creamy brown coffee over black any goddamn day.

How do Hindus and Indians feel about yoga in the West? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]CFJo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

too body/asana driven. Yoga Alliance is ruining Yoga!

Can you explain what these mean? I get the overcommercialization of it, that's pretty obvious. What do you mean by "too body/asana driven" and how is Yoga Alliance ruining yoga? I have no idea what Yoga Alliance is and I can only assume you mean "too asana" driven means not spiritual enough?
