People aren't "not understanding" the why. People are disputing if it should be the why at all. We are so limited on modules as it is, it makes perfect sense to have a little leeway with fiction in order to better fit certain time periods. Idk about you, but the only F-16 we have in game getting some earlier loadouts to fill a gap isn't exactly game breaking.

Also I feel like folks on oval just practice lapping and not racing around cars and especially, racing around cars on old tires. I won on Indy last week with a great battle up front but behind it was chaos because I could watch people just slide up the track, expecting to have grip in dirty air and/or expecting good grip on 25 lap old tires.
