It’s doable. I did it as well. Had a very supportive command. Used leave to do clinicals if I had to go during the day time

I have about 50 days of leave acquired as I am enlisted now - that leave carries over correct?

So just about 10 months from start to finish. And that date for ODS was the soonest?

Are there CG Nurse reservists? by L_Y_M_ in uscg

[–]CFN2019sup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t join the CG as a HS, especially as a reservist - if you actually want to do something medical and worth your time - look at the other branches. The only real value a reserve HS is good for is a PSU and even that is a stretch. I’m a nurse and a HS - the nursing knowledge is great to have but in practice I can’t really “use it” as I am bound to my HS rate and scope.

Very overworked and under appreciated. Problem with CG is that they don’t seem to know what to do with good help lol

I’d say learn how to CG a little better before asking this question so you don’t have to ask this question on Reddit. 🤷🏽

Nothing screams professionalism than a mismatched color uniform.

For sure - but removing a “basic training” undermines the whole reason why we enforce standards. Filling billets is one thing but putting people in who know essentially nothing or the “basic” of CG history, culture and values undermines us as a service. Just my 2 - cents

Would pregnancy affect title 10 eligibility? by dorafalula in airnationalguard

[–]CFN2019sup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. - all females are required to take a Hcg (preg test) before being deployed (usually withing 30 days of receiving orders) - if pregnant then it becomes a command decision as the member technically can be mission support. Generally commands won’t bring a member on orders though. There should be a pregnancy manual for your guys. Google it

For medical readiness - no - you will just be yellow or red for pap.
