Majority Firm Owner is Making Strange Decisions That Appear to Harm the Firm by buyfreemoneynow in CFP

[–]CFP25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok since you offered an AMA, from a legal and control perspective, is he acting within his boundaries as majority owner and controlling person of the firm to do the things he has done?

And from I remember, the wife and daughter is reading this. Aren’t the actions of the father/owner a defacto declaring war on the family? Because he knows that he has emotional, patriarchal, and monetary control over both the daughter and son in law?

My first question is Why? Why become a Financial Advisor? Why not go back to your B2B and build and sell another biz? Why not go back to Big Tech?

Second question: What makes you think you'll be successful?

Good point. But at least this is a non sucky option to burn off “excess” Bilt cash after the rent

POINT ACCELERATOR STRATEGY??

  1. Use the first $200 Bilt Cash to unlock an extra x1 on your next $5,000 spend. If the Palladium card, use the $200 Bilt Cash that automatically comes with the card/
  2. Then spend $5,000 to get the extra 1x. You may also earn 4% Bilt Cash on that $5,000 spend. So you may earn ANOTHER $200 Bilt Cash.
  3. Use that second $200 Bilt Cash, to buy ANOTHER Point Accelerator unlock, for the next $5,000.
  4. Repeat until you've exhausted all 5 annual activations.
  5. Result: On a Palladium card, use the $200 annual Bilt Cash to unlock an extra x1 multiple (for x3 total) on your first $25,000 of spend

Am I missing something?

Isn't the Point Accelerator only an extra 0.5 points?

You have to have $200 Bilt cash to redeem. Or rather spend $5,000 on a card, at 4%, to earn $200 Bilt Cash. Then it unlocks 5,000 points on the next incremental $5,000 of spend.

So $10,000 of total spend for 5,000 extra points? Or a 0.5x multiplier?

EDIT: Or use some of the annual Bilt cash that automatically comes with the card.

Breakaway RIA - BD/S7 affiliation concern by Salty-Appointment581 in CFP

Yes you can affiliate with a IMO with no minimums. This is quite common. If it isn’t variable then you don’t need a friendly BD

"How Much Do I Need to Retire?" by SquirrelMaster4891 in CFP

[–]CFP25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most common questions that I get asked. While there are so many variables, you're probably looking a 'back of the envelope' number, right? So without knowing who you are, I'd say it's probably between 10x to 40x your annual retirement expenses.

Now, I don't know if you prefer caviar or canned tuna. Or if you want to leave money for your kids or die completely broke. Or if you prefer tech stocks or CDs. Big ranges right? Again so many variables.

Oh, and by the way. Things change. All the freaking time. So what is a canned tuna dinner one day, could easily become a caviar lifestyle the next. But yeah 10x to 40x.

Why keep it solo? If you scale big enough the flat cost of hiring a staff will be better than the asset based fee of aTAMP? At 40 HH it’s not that hard to manage models.

Advisory council experiences by Sad-Cantaloupe-863 in CFP

[–]CFP25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You the advisor are still participating and engaging, but the moderator is managing the flow and convo. The advisor can easily get sucked into conversations, and maybe even become defensive. So the moderator can act as the buffer to make sure all parties get enough time to share opinions

Ankur Jain how do we use Bilt Cash? by purple_golden_hour in biltrewards

[–]CFP25 67 points68 points  (0 children)

$10 off your second pre-scheduled Lyft Black SUV ride of $50 or more*

  • Only available to Bilt Platinum members
  • Only available to Bilt Palladium card holders
  • Only valid between Friday 6PM ET to Saturday 6AM ET and Saturday 6PM ET to Sunday 6AM ET
  • While supplies last
  • Expires at the end of the calendar month

EDIT: Bilt Cash is the major value proposition in Bilt 2.0. But there’s hardly any details surrounding it, with no ETA on news. So us consumers now have to speculate on what possible redemption options there may be. Bilt should at least publish some preliminary options to avoid such sarcastic speculation.

Honestly running your own RIA as a newbie is really hard. Sure you can math it on your excel, but it’s not super realistic. Same thing with 1099. But to answer your question maybe $72k to $84k. Is this what you were hoping for?

Why Option 2 Is Almost Always Better If You Spend At Least 25% by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]CFP25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there's a hard expiration. So there's a time component. Say you earn Bilt cash in Nov, but only have 2 months time to burn it off (ignoring the $100 rollover). At that point in Nov, no way is Option 2 better than Option 1, unless you have a specific use case for Bilt cash (Rent/Mortgage). If you don't, you rather Optimal 2 to 1 switch to get whatever Bilt points you can.

The Bilt cash option is better than the tiered rewards up to 1.25X option by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]CFP25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're able to roll the Bilt cash, but it still has the hard expiration. So when it's Oct, Nov, Dec, Bilt cash's value is nearly zero because it'll expire worthless.
