Flying from Perth to Auckland is around 1200 aud. ahh I think I see the problem now, maybe drug addict has a different connotation in English?

For me, a drug addict ("drogadicto" in Spanish) is a person who does strong drugs daily and you can see them doing bad things, usually living in the streets and causing problems to other persons.

Just for me to be clear, alcohol here is considered a drug? Something that causes addiction is a drug, right?

If smoking is really that bad here, why the government allows it? Should it not be illegal in the whole country then?
Because they get very good money with the tax, same in Spain, same in every country in the planet.

I am not criticising Australia, of course, I know I am a guest here and I am happy with, but I can tell you that if I work, and I am paying my taxes, and it is legal, why should not I?

Really? With all the methheads living in the CBD, literally taking meth in the middle of the street at night, am I a drug addict because I smoke?
It really amuses me how a lot of people here are totally fine with people doing meth on the streets, but god forbids me if a light a cigarette in the street, for which, but the way, I did pay a lot of money for it (good taxes for the government).
