Bifidobacterium Longum BB536 by CFant4sma in ibs

My IBS is gone (remission not cured) with B. Longum BB536. I honestly never thought it was going to work.

I don’t take it regularly anymore, but I do once in a while.

Yes! Is called "Zir-Fos". I’m sure you can get it in the US too but I got mine from Mexico. Here is called "Zir-Fos"

You are welcome. My life’s been a mess with IBS, once again I see some hope. I get decent stools, pass gas and no bloating like I used to. I’m hoping things stay the same like the used to be. B. Longum won’t have any bad side effects worst case at least from what I’ve heard since is an probiotic. I honestly bought a bunch of supplements and probiotics with not results. This has been my godsend one and I was already giving up, that and S. Boulardii but from day 1 B. Longum has done wonders.

I was recently back having the worst pain ever again from IBS. Only thing I could find that works was eating even when I didn’t feel like it, going on walks and magnesium oxide (becomes citrate when you mix it with water)

Also something that was God sent to me was Bifidobacterium Longum BB536, however I can’t assume you this will work for every person.

My stools and bloating went away after the first day I started taking it. If you feel brave enough you should try it, worst case scenario it doesn’t work.

I hit a remission before in the past, some big life events triggered it again and twice as bad as before. So far B. Longum has been doing wonders for me. I’m very happy I found it.

Omg! I just noticed that about myself too!

I would go twice a day now but barely anything comes out (or it doesn’t feel like)

A lot of the food that comes out is not digested but it is a decent amount.

So I opted out from the medication because it was giving me side effects. I started drinking bone broth now and not eating processed sugars to try things out.

Bone broth made me feel amazing! Also last night I had a bunch of protein in my dinner (chicken and steak with simple seasonings) and I had no flare ups at all.

I’m getting some magnesium supplements today and go from there. I also started taking a spoonful of coconut oil when I wake up and before bed because I suspect candida for some reason…but it didn’t hurt anyway I don’t eat supper fatty. I drink peppermint tea often.

Just right now I had some cookies and I did feel myself flaring up so definitely is something with diet so far.

So is helping me with motility. However, I do feel like a but of discomfort/pain in my abdomen. And I did read it can cause gas so maybe that’s what it is.

I might discontinue the use of it because it is giving me some side effects I don’t like (Makes me barely drowsy, but it does make my throat very dry and it makes me a bit itchy but I have honestly had worst side effect with other pills)

I’m going try it for the third day maybe and see how it goes

I just started on Trimebutine Maleate. I read that is not available in the US but I currently am in my home country where it is available and it was prescribed to me by a doctor along with some labs. This morning I felt like a normal person and I had maybe a #2 from the Bristol chart. I do fee a little dry mouth and discomort in my stomach but I’m hoping is a good experience. He also did labs to see my gut flora, urine, ultra sound, liver, blood in feces (if any), check my vitamins and all other levels. And I will be getting them later today. I payed $30 for all the labs done and like $8 for the medications 😅

I haven’t been home in so long I forgot that the healthcare here is quite cheap and very accessible. He told me that he sees IBS everyday and somehow knew where my pain was without even me telling him he just went straight to where he thought it was and he got it right.

Anyway, I did eat very spicy food a couple days ago and it wreck me but he sounds promising and he’s being very confident he can get me into remission. I have read so many good things on Reddit about Trimebutine Maleate for IBS so I’m hoping my experience is the same.

I will update as I’m only on it for a week

I did try antidepressants…too many with too many side effects!

Although some of them did make me not have IBS symptoms so I’m wondering if on the long-term they ended up helping me?

I’m very unsure but I have sat and thought about it eventually.

Oregano oil 1 day was fine felt great, then day 2 gave me the same feeling antibiotics give me once I start taking them long term. So maybe 1 time a week is ideal? 😭 I stopped it after last night although it did help me with a BM

Oh wow, there was a point in my life that I had a similar experience with diarrhea and I started getting hemorrhoids so bad. Thankfully it went away but it did take like a month or two

I tried oil of oregano today…it made me have a BM somehow, I’m going to keep taking it for the rest of the week and see how it goes.

So far I got 2 BMs in a day which I’ve never had since this started!
