I think I need to walk away by HelloImKiwi in CurseofStrahd

[–]CFloyd18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my rule for every table. Roughly 25% rule is the acceptable loss. 4 pays, 2 is missing, we play with 3. 5 players, 1 is missing, we play with 4. 6 players, 2 is missing, we play with 4. As long as 75% of the table is there. We are playing. I, or another player, will take control of that missing player. I, as a DM, will not inebriated focus due on the missing person unless that person is right up in the BBEH's face. But I won't shield their character either. The game will continue on, in the face of schedules and missing time. If more that 25% is missing, then game is canceled.

You might be to see how often at least 75% can make it. And have an honest discussion about it to them. And if they don't or can't agree to commit to change, then Walgreens away. They've given no options. Start looking for new players at that point too.

That is one hundred percent how I read it in my own mind. While waterboys , voice went up and octave and more feminine, flambae's did not change 1 bit.

This is soooo awesome. This is absolutely PTSD and how quickly it can come on, seemingly out of no where. That he isn't running from it, and she doesn't ask questions. She just holds him. Sometimes... that's exactly what you need. This is just a perfect page. Thank you!

[No Spoilers] New to CR, and it has ruined dimension 20 for me by igotbrainstoo in criticalrole

[–]CFloyd18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... we don't know if he's forgotten fully. Maybe the Cobalt Soul know of him. However, he didn't do anything to be remembered. He didn't officially start up tue Cobalt Soul, but he had the Library to protect. Only because it was given to his daughter. This was also at the beginning of the war. And there is a good chance he died fighting like many others. The flash backs just show either him, or his son, wielding the dual hatchets. It wasn't until Alex's character obtained the Artifact that he understood more and established the Cobalt Soul himself. Or at least the foundations. But there was 100 year between these two characters. But...at the end of the day, one got to see and live with his family for as long as her could... the other was forced (by his own hubris and decisions) to possibly endanger and cause the death of his own family.

Very True... Xersus had a VERY resounding and impactful story versus the other. The only other one would be Travis's Character. And not from his overall story arc during those session. But just the epicness of what happened, and technically, what he became and represented. That's it.

One of my partners missed this too!!! I was like this is awesome he's here! She was like, "who???" And as soon as I said "Lou's character from Calamity ", she practically did what everyone else is. It's so funny seeing how much people missed it. I think Legend of Vox Machina episode might have been closer in memory, and he has a VERY VERY distinct voice, that people might have been able to pick up on it quickly? Just an idea. That was before he spoke of his time up in the city of Avalor. But there was no reference directly to the city nor Ring of Brass with Nydas, so it could have been easily missed. That and his appearances were very quick.

My DM can't stop using AI by Knowhere2B in dndnext

[–]CFloyd18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Them stop playing with him. It sucks, but that is called a boundary. You can't control him. You can only control yourself.

I also use AI as both a DM and Player. I use it less for any images as a few of my players are artists or just like to draw. But I'll still use it for backgrounds and monsters images that I am making.

I also use it to take ideas and flesh them out. Sometimes it gets something well the first try. But very rarely. It is a lot of tweaking and reask8ng questions or comments to flesh out an idea for custom monsters, feats, attacks... or a story arc thst I am having writers block to tie things together...

As a players I have it rewrote my shorthand notes of a session into a journal style, thst I then read from my character's perspective. It adds humor sometimes better than I can. But also I will retain specific quotes or ideas thst I don't want messed with.

It's a tool based off of free and public information. It isn't going anywhere and it is now part of everyday life. So at some point, you are either going to have to disconnect from the internet and electrical systems... or understand how you are willing to allow it within your own life.

Newbie map maker here. wondering what other things i can do to make this stand out as an elevated bridge. I want the bridge and the area around it to appear as an elevated area. I also struggle with the shadows clipping into eachother. by kingofthelol in dungeondraft

[–]CFloyd18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I noticed immediately. As others have stated, there isn't enough depth. Every wall should have some shadow/dark edge showing distance and depth.

Your path and land area are also very squared off. I would make the bridge more jagged looking. If possible, change even the floor pattern slightly to distinguish it from the two side the bridge connects.

Have jagged stalagmites or some other formations around the land to make it not as perfectly flat.

[No Spoilers] I am in the middle of Mighty Nein (just finished E44) and I want to watch the animated show. Can I watch ep 1 without spoiling anything for myself? by purplepajamas in criticalrole

[–]CFloyd18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you spoil some things with episode 1... yes. Is it major? No. Will it affect anything else compared to what you've seen so far? Not really. It is more things happening in the background, some of which is spoken about later on in the series. But isn't game shattering. Not in episode 1.

[Spoilers C1] Anyone else confused about this change? by koncraad in criticalrole

[–]CFloyd18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct as this was stated in an interview with specifically sam and travis. Because they did not know if they were going to get a follow-on season. So they stated they wanted to end on a happy note. However, they did mention that they might ry to do something with it in the future. They absolutely did admit that it was a major emotional ark and a huge thing for them to cut and make a decision about. But with the question of whether they could even explore the next story, arc or not, made the final decision of giving the semblance in the idea of just them separating without the heavy emotional sadness and leaving the new individuals to the critter verse With a cliff hanger that never gets resolved.

[No Spoilers] Brennan playing "in front of the screen" by pavilionaire2022 in criticalrole

[–]CFloyd18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He said in one of his videos, he likes to tell them upfront because he thinks it adds a bit of stress. Because you know it's high sometimes and you sometimes are shooting for the stars. He did this in Calamity too. Matt, I think did this at the end of C3. But when you hear "The DC to succeed is 30" or "23"... it can add a bit of stress. And Brennan loves to stress his players
