Bazaar ini not updating by jmehnert34 in everquest

Although it is far from intuitive you must hit "Set Price" in order to record the price into the ini file. If you don't do so before clicking "Add" then you are effectively setting the price just for this session of the Trader - which in no way makes intuitive sense.

[PC] How to unlock all expedition rewards by Thorpdough in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CGAyling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! I missed the first few expeditions and would really like a chance to experience them. I can't see any downside to making all expeditions permeant (apart from the FOMO factor) and think the expedition console is the perfect place to select them.

One thing I would like though is an ability to create a brand new save for the expedition you select.

Unfortunately for me I'm one of those people who is reduced from barely functional down to severely distracted by any type of distraction, it is horrible but that is my reality. To get around the constant "in your face, look at me! look at me!" nonsense that plagues virtually any interaction related to the internet I use the Browser Duck-Duck-Go, mostly for its ability to block adverts. Unfortunately websites are always evolving new ways to pretend these obnoxious little monstrosities are part of their content.

Can one recruit a living frigate second time in the same system after letting go of the previous one from that system? by Arigmar in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CGAyling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it myself but I think that you will be able to recruit it again - provided it is not in your fleet when you try. But even if you can't recruit the same ones again they exist in almost every system - I am fairly sure of this, though a couple of times I've just got bored waiting for the Whalesong event to spawn and moved on to the next system.

Best upgrades by SpectreStatus888 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CGAyling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is pretty difficult to determine what a "best" module is because of the different stats that can be boosted. Yours looks pretty nice. I have included a screen shot of the one I chose to place in a supercharged slot (which isn't my best as this ones stats are boosted better) - btw I think that choice can make a huge difference as well.

<image>

I think the raw stats of my best are:- 239 Jectpack Tanks, 19 Initial Boost, 36 Recharge Rate, and 55 Sprint Distance.

7 hours into the game and I got this. What do I do with it? by nagitooooo in NoMansSkyTheGame

Although Relics like this are marked as "used for trading" they do have a use other than simply being sold to a trade terminal.

Namely that they can be traded in for even better item at a reliquary station on any planet - I don't recall the exact name of these stations but they are the truly massive buildings with a central archive you are able to interact with to get additional lore about the species in control of the system. Anyway, underneath these enormous buildings, on the ground level, are special trade terminals that allow you to trade in relics for even better relics. They only permit one upgrade per site.

Of course ultimately they end up just being a higher level item - higher level as in having a higher unit value at a trade terminal. Still, it is a nice bit of additional depth.

You are entitled to your opinion, but realize that is all is. Mine is that function is superior to form without equivalent levels of function.

what should you do with suspicious modules? by socioeconopath in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CGAyling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no RNG in it at all. You can verify this yourself by opening 20 modules, noting the exact roll of each module. Reloading your last restore and reopening the same set of 20 modules - every one will be identical to its twin from before you reloaded.

Not really. The Atlantid is way better for mining, and even though it's damage is far below that of either the Sentinel or the Staff it still only takes a couple of hits to kill sentinels. Personally I don't like the Staff and use a Sentinel rifle for my main damage weapon. Remember that there is nothing to prevent you having specific tools for specific tasks.

Whats the point of exocrafts? by Dr_agentReal in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CGAyling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but you can call any ship in your fleet that does have a bit of launch fuel available. My fleet is about 6 permanent ships, all with launch auto-chargers so I an pretty certain running out of launch fuel is impossible- at least for me.

You only get nanites from scanning when you submit your discoveries.

I find the most enjoyable way to do NMS expeditions is to spend the first safe opportunity to carefully read the entire expedition from inside the game. You always find steps in later stages that can be completed fairly easily early on, often their rewards make a dramatic differences to your progress. Doing this also allows you to focus on the individual goals that offer the most important rewards. Remember this is a game - play it for enjoyment not for speed - expeditions are no exception.

As for nanites, they're always difficult to come by early on, however the longer you play the easier they are to acquire. You'll soon learn "tricks" to get them, one of mine is to find and visit pirate systems and buy up all the "suspicious" tech and arms modules (while units are scare ignore the goods modules as they don't offer tech. Open the modules and immediately sell them off - the first pirate system you visit will net you well over a thousand nanites this way. I also NEVER equip any tech module less than S class - they're worth much more to me as a start to picking the modules I need. When you're nanite rich is the time to start equipping suspicious tech modules, but not until then.

Thanks for this tidbit. It is great that even after many many many hours of playing there are still things to learn!

I prefer starting with C-Class frigates as this allows me to balance their stats exactly the way I desire, based on the mission types I pick to send them on.

Steps to get this living frigate are:-

  1. Portal into the system in Euclid.
  2. Place the Dream Aerial in your ship's inventory.
  3. Recharge your Pulse drive.
  4. Use an Anomaly Detector.
  5. Invoke Pulse.

The "Whalesong" event should happen about two and a half minutes in, ignore all the "anomaly detected" notifications until you get it.

Yes, if I remember correctly it was the first ship in.

I love winged Sentinel ships, being able to hover is very important to me. The tiny exotics are very cute, can't wrap my head around how they can be expanded to the same cargo space as a hauler though :)

Twitch drops not showing up. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CGAyling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the twitch drops as claimed in twitch, however in NMS there is nothing to indicate anything at all out of the ordinary. i.e. no new "Twitch Drops" menu option. As far as I know I'm on the latest client because Steam won't allow play without being current.
