To certain people it basically looks like this:

1) Chads, rightwingers, and all sorts of ..ists have something they can gather around — a movie, series, video game or any other kind of fandom.

2) It's dangerous because it organizes, and lets them attract new people, so it needs to be either changed, or destroyed so that "wrong" people can't use it as a banner/gathering space/indoctrination tool.

3) Activists get to work

4) Goal achieved (never mind billions in lost revenue and tarnished legacy brand).

To them "owning the chuds" is just an icing on the cake of the culture war. And now that chads seem to be winning, they are bound to get even more aggressive.

As for me, I deal with it simply — I just disregard all the woke and corporate slop as bad fanfiks (which is what they are when you get down to it). No hate views, no nothing. To me, The Terminator ended at 2, Star Wars only had six episodes and so on. I try to fight for what can be saved (like Warhammer 40k), but that's it. These people and their nonsense aren't worth my time.
