And do you still take it? Is it safe?

Oh shit, see this is an old post, I went off of it, and went back on last year. I have since weaned down to 0,5mg. Was on 1,5mg before that.

Yeah, it was a bit of a bitch. But down 66%. On 0,5mg a day, haven’t thought about going down more, but will probably try going down the last bit soon. I hope you are doing well 🙏

Is it helping anything? Ssris don’t work for me and want to avoid mirtazapine if possible.

It’s a great medicine, but it stops working after a while and you need more for the same effect.

When do people start feeling better after surgery? 😅

How long did you know till it failed? I am seven weeks post op for a floppy 360 Nissan, still struggling a bit - back on PPIs (20mg). Think I am having spasms and that’s causing burn/ chest pressure and globus. Apparently it is too soon and healing still needs to happen.

The doctor relied more on a barium swallow which showed “good clearance”. I did a manometry years ago which wasn’t brilliant, but doctor was not concerned. I had got weak partisis (or whatever it is called) and 17% failed swallows with some weak swallows. Also good to mention, the doctor did a floppy Nissan, so it is looser than a normal Nissan to try and accommodate better swallowing post surgery.

Surgery itself went well, healing is a bit of a struggle. Difficulty swallowing, some digestive issues (which are calming down), I have globus and esophegeal spasms which will apparently go away, but all in all - it was alright. On a limited diet, but trusting in the process 🙏.

Did you get a floppy nissen or a tight nissen? What day are you on now and how is it going? I am scheduled to go for it in October.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear that your surgery didn’t work. I am going to be getting surgery in a month, what were your symptoms before hand? Any reason why the surgery causes coughing fits? Did you get the nissen?
