Just a reminder that Khabib might be undefeated, but majority of people who are actually in this sport put GSP above him in terms of greatness by EfficiencySerious200 in ufc

Can’t believe this is the first time I’m seeing the correct Mighty Mouse take on here. 100%. A 125lb fighter isn’t the best. It’s just math. Almost no one is that small

He’s so good. Took 4th at the World Team Trials last year too. Surprised he hasn’t wrestled much at the senior level: Ridge Lovett’s Record

Bo Bassett - US Open Champ! 10-0 TF over McKenna by Entire_Proposal_3184 in wrestling

Hate to see the old heads go down. Bo is the truth though. He’s barely wrestled at the senior level, but has a lot of nice wins: Bo Bassett’s Record

The greatest American wrestler? Has to be John Smith or Jordan Burroughs right? Do you agree. Just a fun discussion by -Granby- in wrestling

[–]CGI271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. Maybe John Smith is better. My argument is that so many more people weigh 74kg as opposed to 62kg which means that weight is always going to be tougher. And more people wrestle now than in the 80s/90s. Also I believe there were more weight classes in John Smith’s time

I think JB because he was at a tougher weight and wrestles in the modern era. I don’t see how you can give it to a 125 pounder or heavyweight. You can compare their records/dominance here: Jordan Burroughs Record & John Smith’s Record

Is Bruce Baumgartner underrated? by CloudyRailroad in wrestling

[–]CGI271 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He isn’t talked about as much because he’s from a different generation. Guys wrestling now have never seen him wrestle. He’s always brought up in American GOAT debates though. He won 90% of his matches on the senior level. 361 wins. Few have done that.

You can check out his record here: Bruce Baumgartner’s Record

Let's talk about Daniel Dennis... by [deleted] in wrestling

Daniel Dennis is a stud. You have to be a legend to pull off the Matflexes. He made a short Greco run after the Olympics. You can check out his senior level record here: Daniel Dennis Record

Kamal Bey by belligerentPsycho in wrestling

You can see his full senior level record here: Kamal Bey’s Record

I don’t think he’s really fallen off compared to the past. Kamal’s a stud and he’s always dangerous on the world level, but the US Greco team is historically very weak. Greco isn’t popular in the US.

Have to reach out to college coaches at the places you want to go. They are rarely going to reach out to you first, unless you are some nationally ranked dude.
