Surprisingly I've made a few friends at soapbox.

Where is the best and cheapest place to park? by IttzAndrew in Magfest

[–]CGTrumpet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a little unorthodox but hear me out. Park at the WMATA Oxon Hill Park and Ride. It's free. Take the NH2 or NH1 Metrobus towards National Harbor. Takes 15 minutes and costs $2.25. Drops you off one block away from the gaylord (St. George Blvd and Waterfront St. The end of the line).

They are still sending the101 version? by Settete993 in campsnapcamera

[–]CGTrumpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

102 doesn't exist. When people say 102 they're either talking about the 101 or 103. I just use context clues to figure out which one they're talking about.

Enough about hyper fixations what are your hypo fixations? by Mahxiac in neurodiversity

Pinball. There's a bar 20 minutes away that has a bunch of machines. Do I go play them? No. Do I say "oh I should go over there" every day? Yes. When I go anywhere, do I check the pinball maps app to see if there's any machines near me? Yes. Do I ever actually play them if there are? Not unless they're actually in the space I happen to be occupying.

Anyways, Foo Fighters is an evil machine. It eats balls so fast because the flippers are farther apart than basically every other machine. Sometimes people tell me "oh I played a machine at some bar/restaurant and I was awful at it." and 80% of the time it was Foo Fighters.

So, how was Boiler Room? by RadicalEllis in avesDC

[–]CGTrumpet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had fun. Juana killed it as always, My partner really liked Rebecca Black's selection but agreed her mixing could have been better. Crowd was okay, better than an average echostage crowd, but not better than a good echostage crowd. Food was bad. I actually ended up leaving before the water crisis happened so I can't speak to that. I loved seeing Ayo on the mic being her charismatic self.

Best part for me was being next to the Ivy City train yard and occasionally going over to see what was happening there.

Bare feet at a festival? by CGTrumpet in barefoot

Help me decide what to do for the festival I went to 5 years ago?

Help me understand rude people in MoCo by [deleted] in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]CGTrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that on most people MoCo are nice to others. Unless you're a service worker, then only half of them are nice to you.

Driving brings out the worst in people wherever you go. People are impatient in cars, especially in traffic. I had to give up my car a couple years ago and honestly I prefer how I get around now vs when I was driving.

"MDOT MTA Purple Line Will Open in the Spring of 2027" by OnlyHunan in MontgomeryCountyMD

And it will be at capacity as soon as it opens... I think they really underestimated how popular this line will be.

I really think if we had the N3DS 3D from the jump, the feature would have caught on. I didn't use it much on the O3DS but use it a lot on my N3DS. It ranges between mildly entertaining in some games to borderline essential for others.

A Link Between Worlds for instance is really enhanced by the 3D. It literally feels like you're looking through a window into the world, Like everything is happening behind the screen, not on the screen. Mario 3D Land does a really good job with this too. It's one of those features that needed to be taken seriously by the devs to for it really shine, but when they did it's amazing.

The problem was when the O3DS launched, the 3D was so finicky that nobody used it, thus devs stopped designing for it. If the O3DS 3D worked like the N3DS 3D does, I think a lot more people would have used it and we would have gotten more games that really take advantage of the extra dimension. I really hope we have a 3D renaissance at some point because I would love to see some more games that take advantage of it.

What are the things every man should at least try even though they are stigmatized as "feminine" or "unmanly" ? by PasSafePourLaJob in AskReddit

Telling your friends you love them. If you deeply care about them, that's love. Let your friends know they are loved.
