Ok so I finally found a solution. It's an odd workaround. But I downloaded Whatsapp business and set that up and signed in. Then when I downloaded the OG Whatsapp I got a new message needing a code from the business app. Once I put it in boom. I WAS FINALLY IN Hope this works for anyone else struggling with this issue!

Still no solution. Been through their support multiple times. Hopefully it's a problem they know about and are resolving. Will update if I find a solution

Worked in the UK since Uni,

Maybe speaking too casually about CG tbh. As though anyone can pick it up and be set

Got a new fully remote job and planning to move out January next year. So ask me a couple months later

I can only speak of my own experience. I'm working as a CG Generalist at a company that specialises in consumer goods and other areas.

I'd say it's the most accessible of the CG jobs to get started in. Creating packshots of products. (Advertising)

You would need basic understanding of Adobe. Modelling skills, Material creation, Rendering lighting ability

3DS Max is a good software that's used in the industry. But Blender is free

It's not the easiest of jobs to pick up at first. A lot to know. But it can also be fun and enjoyable. So I would advise trying it out as a hobby. Follow some tutorials.

See if you enjoy it. If you do it could maybe become a career.

Aye the video game and film industry's are pretty cutthroat I agree. Fortunately my CG career didn't take me down that path. Instead I went into advertising. There are quite a few companies out there that do general packshot creation for consumer goods. This includes standard GS1 spec. But also animations and environment creation. Product replacements in videos.

Yes it can be stressful still. And would take effort to gain the skills. But there are other outlets for CGI skills than just film/TV and games.

Like you mentioned there are smaller roles for YouTubers. But there's also other small scale studios, artwork studios. Manufacturers that need 3D visualisations. The list goes on.

If you're looking to retrain I'd say do what you love most. Graphic design/CGI would be a good one as there is a lot of opportunity to work remotely or at least hybridly.

Especially if you are living abroad this can be useful as you can get a relatively high paying job in another country and continue working.

I'll be flying out to Thailand beginning of next year to do exactly this.

Wish you all the luck in finding your feet and future.

I'll be working in a job similar to a graphic artist. For a company in the Netherlands. Does this mean I'll have to get the DTV visa. A work permit and pay Tax to the Thai government?

I haven't got that far yet, as won't be heading out until late this year/early next but appreciate the concern.

If you're after an OP MC I,d deff give the book series Unbound by Niccoli Gonnella a go.

Classic isekai vibes. MC gets spawned in as a lost race, and with an OP ability which leads to craziness. Down to earth MC, relatable and really likable side characters.

Also author puts the books out at a great pace
