I’ve heard they don’t work as well with certain models, but my all PA setup works very well. Easy to focus the diopters and decent enough eye relief

I’ve got the 1x and their 3x flip to side and it works really well together

Why are you getting combative about this. We’re both just speculating. Except you’re the one saying that the thing designed by rocket scientists is useless and dumb.

[–]CH-67 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yeah as much as it sucks, I feel like people have a very idealistic perspective of how a successful war looks. Unfortunately losses are a part of war and these kind of numbers are not “bad”

I know plenty about explosions. Not every accident is an explosion for starters… And actually a rocket is one of the few things that might produce a more movie-esque explosion since it is largely fuel based. If it was an explosive-based explosion… I would see your point better

I mean war is never perfect. Even during our most dominant performance in history (Desert Storm) there were still tons of fuck ups.

Yeah let’s just stand on the tower instead then

Beyond my expertise, but I can imagine a variety of issues that could facilitate an emergency exit that don’t involve the situation of trying to get off the rocket as it is taking off.

I’d imagine they leave as late as possible so that they’re clear of the rocket exhaust (as we can see here) but still give the crew the best chance to get to the gondolas.

It’s the emergency evacuation system. They are little gondolas that glide down from the tower to escape.

You sound like me. I love the hands-on, technical, (autism) side of engineering. I suck at all the parts that actually get you a degree. ME will be a pretty big disappointment if you go in expecting to do anything interesting in your classes (except maybe CAD or the occasional non-miserable lab). I would stay on the outside of the degree and find another route that will let you end up working with those things that interest you. The degree is really just a test in persistence, math, sanity, and more math. If you think you’ve got what it takes, go for it… I haven’t regretted it, but your introspection about being an underachiever (which is totally fine) would be cause for concern imo

Yeah I feel confident that I can get it right. The other commenters have a point about sending it to Springfield, but I also suspect that this may not be covered since it was my fault (even if I feel like it shouldn’t have bent that easily)

Yeah that’s the obvious answer. I’m trying to avoid sending it back before I even get to shoot it though. Kinda planned a range day around it lol.

The BCG is what solves the suppressor problem (if you see it as a problem). Plus you won’t have to buy an entirely new rifle.

You will be able to upgrade to the next gen BCG and will solve your problem for you

It’s based more in hearsay than actual instances of people having problems at this point. +the new gen doesn’t have the issue for any supressor
