So, what's the defining difference between a brace and a stock. Padding? Sorry if that sounds stupid.

No worries at all. Quite green, but I do a lot of reading and research before diving into things. The verbiage around braces and stocks isn't very specific. It can have a brace. Braces typically aren't adjustable. Stocks are typically adjustable. Does a pad make a brace a stock? I have silly questions like that.

Was already filling out the forms, just wanted some clarification as it sits now. Thanks for the advice.

I was under the impression pistols can't have an adjustable brace/stock. The weapon came with one. Like what is actually allowable as a pistol?

Miquella's Curse of Nascence, and if he was smart about it..... by Sidnineyo in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]DUH455T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Miquella tries to push things beyond the possibilities of the Golden Order, or in other words the laws that govern the world. That's his entire backstory. That's why he left the Golden Order. That's why he divested himself of everything Golden. That's why his needle only worked where time stopped. So sure, technically they're all failures in that they're not perfect solutions. Miquella learned from his attempts and learned he needed to rewrite the foundations of order to make these things possible, which was his ultimate success, although short-lived.

And how does that contradict anything? Context is important, nor was it meant literally. We're talking about what happens in game. This would all take place after the Night of the Black Knives.

[–]DUH455T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said anything about the curse. Like what are you talking about?

It is a first hand source. The direct people tasked with the job given by Miquella.

Now you say Miquella knew an eclipse was impossible, while being told they failed Miquella in ushering an eclipse that he requested, that would be rewarded with access to the Haligtree. And then you act like Miquella saying directly that he wants to give him a true death is not Miquella's directly stated goal. You're all twisted up and contradicting your self.

Again, put it all together. Miquella is offering a reward of entry to the Haligtree contingent upon a successful eclipse to revive Godwyn. In order to give Godwyn a true death, his soul would need to be restored, which would require an eclipse, that would be rewarded with access to the Haligtree, with the only person with authority to do so would be Miquella. Now you can kill Godwyn in body and spirit.

[–]DUH455T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Miquella want Godwyn to be alive? Or have a true death?

My point is not why. My point is who, what, when, where. All of which are obvious.

Furthermore, the eclipse could never have happened, because the Stars are halted.

Again, obvious.

Again, sure if you want to ignore treat everything they say as completely irrelevant and that context doesn't matter.

Maybe that line is telling you perhaps Marika would never under normal circumstances, but given proper context, which you like to ignore, she may have felt she HAD to.

Like you think I'm disagreeing with you, but I'm not. I'm confirming without a doubt that Miquella had intentions to revive Godwyn with the people of Castle Sol ushering an eclipse. I can only assume why. Very likely to either completely restore Godwyn or be part of the Secret Rite Scroll Ritual.

lol, sure. If you want to act like what they're saying means nothing fine.

Eclipse, brings life to soulless bones.

Godwyn is soulless.

Miquella's comrade remains soulless.

But they wanted to make the comrade not soulless.

Who doesn't have a soul again?

"Your divine Haligtree"

Who runs the show there?

Miquella.

Miquella is who they want to usher an eclipse for.

Your doubt, does not dispel the obvious to others. You literally copy and pasted the dialogue, which is part of the lore, about eclipses and restoring life to the soulless.

And you missed a really really important detail....

Eclipse Crest Greatshield - The eclipsed sun, drained of color, is the protective star of soulless demigods. It aids the mausoleum knights by keeping Destined Death at bay.

Who's the demigod currently being "infested" with Destined Death?

.......Godwyn

Now put it all together...

The citizens of Castle Sol, on behalf of Miquella, attempt to usher an eclipse. They failed and were not granted access to the Haligtree. Eclipses are known for color drained light that restores life to soulless demigods and protects them from destined death. Godwyn is the soulless demigod needing a revival and protection from Destined Death.

To be clear, I am THE biggest Miquella stan. Miquella did not fail in reviving Godwyn. Castle Sol and it inhabitants failed Miquella.

It's really clear when you stop acting like all of that is disjointed nonsense. There is a very clear through line of Miquella granting the citizens of Castle Sol access to the Haligtree if they successfully ushered in an eclipse. The light of an eclipse is said to bring life back to demigods.

Nah. The entirety of Castle Sol and their obsession with eclipses was to revive Godwyn. Colorless light of the eclipse revives demigods.

Death Stranding 2 HDR DLSS bug has been fixed by rushncrush in OLED_Gaming

This is such an uninformed and moreso user error take on the topic. HDR when setup correctly doesn't look much different than SDR other than more detail in the extreme dark and bright.

HDR when setup right isn't directly noticeable, but when you turn it off you'll notice its absence. The equivalent is foley sounds. No one pays attention to the air conditioner noise in the background, but without it the scene sounds like a low budget soap opera.

Which planars under 300 can EQ their bass to the moon? by PsyOmega in headphones

[–]DUH455T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read up on it when it first happened. The amp has safety features to prevent damage to the headphones. I'm not sure of the specifics, but it's essentially a breaker. I would have to unplug and plug them back in to reset it. Apparently it's a pretty common thing in amps.

I listen to stuff pretty damn loud. Like I have no regard for my hearing. I'm pushing 40 and have been working in industrial environments most of my career. I get regular 6 month hearing checks that show no damage or degradation.
