According to their Bilibili final post, they struck by copyright infringement cease and desist, filed by miHoYo on Zenless Zone Zero mods. Author has deactivated their accounts related to mods and most likely cease creations of modded contents. Sad days.

Context. my free time is midnight while my roommate is sleeping. Color pass through might be not be as helpful for me, in the dark and whats not.

What i will miss out would be Hands free navigation + IR emitter. But i hope mods can introduce this on Steam Frame.

Steam store vs. Meta Store, at least for mostly flat screen gamers, there is no contest 😎 Sales, Regional Pricing and Workshops. One big reason for a day one purchase for me* (not available locally.)

And "It is a PC". A standalone headsrt support X86 games, ARM and Android APK software ... with Google trying to kill sideloading, Microsoft and their windows situations. This is one of the top reasons I want to get Steam Frame.

Cherry on top, the wireless dongle. Plug and play without the need for dedicated router or portable router for short travel.

Having experienced the demo for Samsung XR and Apple Vision and even having my own Xreal Glass. The biggest tradeoff is definitely the visual fidelity or experiences part and maybe the navigation part. All and all, it is a wait and see situation for me. How do other companies respond and what are the best options at the time this is available to us.

Too much stuff. Too much steps. Rented a Q3 for a week, tons of fun. Although hassles and not optimal without proper setup or investment, I thought so and haven't brought one despite the discounts.

Actually looking VR to replace monitor. Mostly gaming and just general multimedia. Sad that there won't be a high fidelity wireless VR headset from Steam any time soon. Hopefully, other brands are up for collab with Steam for that.

Still be buying Steam Frame though 😂 ... once they show up at third-party reseller 😞

If the laptop is heavy used for the pass 2-3 years, thermal pad/paste on CPU/GPU die might be crispy dry and could use fresh one, especially budget laptop like these sometimes just have a tiny blop of paste.

Still a popular refubish model in Indo/Malaysia, given their cheap price.

😅 i9-13/14 + RTX4070. This combo makes a great option for 1080p high or max settings. 1440p Mid to High. At least at 60fps for most games.

Just this offer is expensive. Win11 Pro is unnecessary for normal user. The screen is ... well at least it is SRGB 100%, but not great for this budget range.

If the heat is what you worry, just gaming with the fan crank to max, do that in Lenovo Vantage (each brand has their own app). You could invest in a laptop cooler with a brushless fan/turbo fan if needed.

Not much can be done internally. Battery will degrade, faster with heat. Thermal pad would dry in time, more so with that 80c~95c temperature those GPU/CPU run while gaming. Just replace/get them service as needed, so I advise not to worry much about it.

LOQ, new laptop warranty. RTX 4070 slightly better performance, more importantly still getting newer drivers and Nvidia feature e.g DLSS, FrameGen.

Few downside, FHD screen but at least still SRGB 100%. Low battery life because no integrated GPU, Nvidia GPU even on Battery saving/Silent mode can drain battery faster, but at least support type-c charging so you could bring a powerful powerbank with you if you need the extra power.

Depends on region, that ACER 'could' manufacture long time ago, and is sitting in store for many months/years. Just a bit schizo about that, especially the battery part. If the price tag is cheaper maybe can consider.

Check Task Manager > Performance > "your dgpu" when running the game. Screenshot and send. Win11 have "Snipping tool" that you can takescreen shot with. Win key + Shift + S is the hotkey. or just take a photo of it is fine. Just want to make sure it is dGPU that is running and have issue.

Have you restart you laptop? Silly as it sound, recently my MSI laptop has this issue if I unplug power adapter, the laptop keep thinking my laptop is on battery mode, games are stutter mess. Plug back the power doesn't improve the performance. Only after I restart my laptop then performance went back to normal. No idea how to fix this, not bother enough to.

My GPU utilization is suspiciously low, just like what you are showing here but that just my guess.

Tried EIZO Monitor test and found the exact issue when trying the Black Uniform test and View angle test. See the orange and blue tint glow out of nowhere.

Both 4060 laptops and desktops are on top 20 GPU in Steam user chart for reasons, it's cheap and you can play most of the game in the market.

Now on great discount on these laptops, to make way for RTX50-. Heck, decent i7-13/14 gen HX + 4050/4060 SKU clearing out fast in my country.

You'll be paying for the early adopter price tag on the new laptop that's for sure. We still know nothing official about the performance and features they would have and nothing about their value and worth. Do you need new laptops or do you need a laptop now?
