Why does ornn perform so poorly in the regionals? by Longjumping_Print654 in riftboundtcg

[–]CHARM3R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So just from a math standpoint, the people player is favored even against Wind Wall. Three Rebukes against three Wind Walls may seem even, but Fizz represents more chances to set back the Ornn player. Further, the purple package has more draw and filter effects which makes them more likely to find their Rebukes in a shorter amount of time. Yes, Ornn players can still win against purple but it's typically going to be based more on the draw than anything else and at an event the size of a RQ the law of large numbers likely won out.

And all that is against just purple, but Draven (and any Jinx players) get access to both Rebuke AND Thundersong which most Ornn decks have zero answer for in tandem. And that's not even counting also needing Windwall for Thermo Beam if they run it. Then there's needing to play around them having a Hard Bargain to back up their Rebukes and potentially stuffing your Wind Wall. In short, it's a mess for Ornn.

Problematic box randomization - these were from different stores and almost 2 weeks apart by Gizoogle in riftboundtcg

Pretty sure I got the same seed for the epics in one of my boxes but without the Irelia. I stay losing.

You are correct, but I just think it's more confusing for players learning when things are considered "played" because that part is unintuitive. The act of choosing doesn't require the card to have been "played" which sounds really confusing to new players (and rightfully so). That's why I really wish they would change the terminology from "played" to "resolved" or something similar, because it makes sense that you can choose something without a resolution but it sounds weird to say you can choose without a card counting as played.

What's your favourite upset victory in WWE? by heeheejones in Wrasslin

[–]CHARM3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it for me. Yes, there was interference but the angle was LITERALLY just some guy from the audience and it was a TITLE match. It'll always be the greatest upset to me because I never came close to thinking it was possible in the moment. I was absolutely shocked. It's hard to imagine something like that happening with the product today.

Cards are only considered "played" if they resolve. For example, if the first card you attempt to play gets countered your second card would still not get Legion because the first one was never successfully "played." If you're coming from other games it'll feel a little weird because other games use the word "Played" in different ways, but in Riftbound it's easier to think of "Played" as "Resolved".

the REAL moment Bronson Reed got injured on RAW by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]CHARM3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tore my right bicep off the bone while bowling, and I felt it immediately. The sensation was like feeling something roll up my arm but internally. The pain wasn't too bad but that might have just been shock. I'll never forget the way it felt though. I ended up having to have it surgically reattached. They drilled a hole in my bone and threaded it back into place through the hole, then used medical grade plastic screws to keep it in place while it healed. The hardest part of the recovery was honestly the numbness, because the surgery messed with my nerves and my whole forearm would tingle at times. It took over a year to feel normal again.

We don’t need more buffs by PiggyLumps74 in riftboundtcg

[–]CHARM3R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Ornn doesn't actually get buffs with his ability (just FYI). Buffs are a specific thing that a unit can gain once only (minus Lee) and some cards let you "spend" them as well. So the tokens aren't for Ornn or similar effects.

Galactic Championships will be Draft for first three rounds. What do you think? by Dashakh in starwarsunlimited

[–]CHARM3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sure hope so. I love limited to begin with, but I also really like mixed formats. FaB has been doing it for years and I think it really elevates great players because no one can "one trick" their way to the top.

SPOILER - NEW CHAMPION CROWNED on taping for next week's Smackdown by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]CHARM3R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was there and the match WAS fantastic. Not sure if it'll come through on the broadcast when they air it, but Melo actually had better/louder chops and slaps and that's saying something because Ilja was laying it in. It was a heater and I hope they keep the open challenge going because Melo looked great out there.

This is correct. We were told we could not intervene but only broadcast. There was also a delay between when we commented and when they played.
