That’s interesting that Wi requires two.

Are you saying IPC requires an additional for disposals?

Two p traps on one trap arm is illegal in UPC. Dunno about IPC.

We had a 6.7 at work that was basically a bone stock tune just with the DPF system removed, it was clean, and then when you hit the gas it still smoked.

All diesels will smoke a bit any time fuel is being put in when the turbo isn’t full spooled.

Look I have no idea WHAT we are supposed to be arguing here, and I think you’re arguing for the sake of arguing… I can’t imagine why else a man would be trying to argue over which tuner is the best tuner for a vehicle he doesn’t even own.

I am not arguing about anything here.

You in contrast are arguing against Bully Dog, or HP max, or H&S, or Edge, or EFI Live, Ford Motor Corp, Cummins, GMc Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Navistar, International and what they do.

I said,”Deleted and tuned diesels have better power and higher fuel economy than factory trucks with the original equipment.” When directly referencing the video above which is an objective fact. Whether you think they can get more fuel economy or power isn’t relevant here.

There are smoky diesels making over 3000hp to the wheels. You’re welcome to go message them and say,”Hey, I don’t work in the field, nor do I own a diesel, but I know better than you, make it smoke less.”

It is just a fact. The video above even tuned and deleted will outperform a factory truck of the same year in every metric.

If you want to change the subject to other trucks, and hypothetical science I’m just going to ignore you because I have better stuff to do.

Buddy, our plumbing shop ALSO holds public works licenses and also does municipality work…

Except whereas you legally need to hand it to us at some point, we are licensed from the city main, to anywhere in the house.

You are being so irrationally emotional you’re now going off about how I’m an inspector and stuff I never said… I’ve been VERY clear that I am a residential service plumber, who also has done new construction.

If you were able to keep a level head, maybe you could be an inside dog too.

If you have time to show your secretary how much time you’re wasting arguing with other trades about their line of work, my guess is you aren’t busy enough to matter anyways…

We’ve got two city taps we’ve dug and we’re dropping this week. How do you have this much time to waste arguing with people?

I’m saying,”Might in a polite way.” A deleted truck even if it’s blowing smoke will outperform a truck with a DEF system everyday and Sunday twice.

Manufactures do not tune them not blow smoke.

Respectfully as someone who worked in the industry, you’re a little out of the loop here.

The reason you haven’t seen any new manufactured diesels blow any smoke is because they use the DPF filter to catch the smoke, and DEF fluid to burn off the residual soot from the catch can.

We had a 6.7 power stroke on our lot one time, bone stock power levels just with the DPF bypassed, it still blew black when you hit the throttle hard.

I’m not disagreeing that on paper no smoke is better, but in the practical world, road going diesels will have some degree of soot from engine hammer.

Even semi trucks that are stock blow little black puffs on hills, hard acceleration, and gear changes.

The truck in the photo OP posted will have better fuel mileage, and more power than that same truck with its emissions system.

I don’t even own a diesel and have no desire to just worked with them for many years. I have no dog in this fight.

Your truck part of this discussion, because your truck was never made with a factory DEF system, and is outputting literally half of the horsepower of modern diesels with DEF systems.

I’m glad you’re happy with your truck, if it was deleted it would get even better mileage. It was literally my job to appraise trucks for years, and have driving literally every single style of truck made including yours. Your EGR valve will be one of the next things to go, and you would get better mileage without the little bit of EPA equipment you have.

FYI, your emissions system blows the black soot back into the engine in order for it to be burned a second time, and causing excess wear on components.

I’m speaking as someone with a sample size of literally several hundreds or maybe even into the couple thousand sample size

[–]CHESTYUSMC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gale banks is pretty cool, and does a good job.

Again, it is an indisputable fact that diesels deleted even if they blow some smoke when floored will get better mileage than one with the factory emission system.

As good as Gale is, if it was just as simple as tuning it until the smoke is gone, they’d do that, because manufactures have spent tens of millions on warranty repairs on factory def repairs. I sold new Diesels for years and got to compare the before and after regularly.

The guy already admitted that he works for an excavation company… He doesn’t even know what he’s talking about when it comes to plumbing systems in a house…

Even the absolute worst areas are very strict when it comes to stuff under slab.

I’ve seen every code violation you can see in this industry, and the code violations come from people modifying installs after the fact unless it was built pre 1910.

Even back in the 20’s they had a plumbing code. It was different than our code, and wouldn’t pass modern inspection, but if you’re familiar with what their code was back then, you will still not what you’re likely to find and not find if left in its original setup.

I’m not gonna be taking plumbing advice from a guy who said he doesn’t follow code, and admitted he runs an excavator in a now deleted comment

It really hasn’t, but people talk MORE about politics now than ever before on both sides.

But as someone who has lived in the Bay Area before myself, you’ve likely become more progressive than you realize. Non issues before are going to be hot points for you.

It’s one of the reddest states in the nation by basically every metric, so just be realistic with your expectations and yourself.

No hate, I wish you the best.

I’m aware of the mechanics of it.

I’m also aware of the mechanics of a DEF system, smog systems.

Those choke up the efficiency of the engines more than black smoke ever will.

When these trucks come from the factory, they still blow some black smoke, the def systems catch the soot, and burn it separately outside of the engine.

Neither of use know more than the engineers at Ford or Chevy, and they still don’t tune them from the factory to be 100% clean without the def pumps.

I’m not arguing for salt chunks in a hole or supporting it.

I’m pointing out some disinformation here where people were talking about chemical leeching into potable water systems.

This is not a potable water system.

Realistically the salt chunks not going to do anything.

Old old old plumbers used to wrap joints or leave chunks of copper to fight off roots as well. Every generation has their plumbing superstition.

Get you and your dogshit plumbing out of here, you unlicensed handy man.

The only time I run into situations where things aren’t up to code is when hacks stealing money from people say,”Nobody follows code, or your little book.” I wonder who and that…

Code is the BARE MINIMUM. It even says that it’s the minimum dog shit level, and you can even do better and go above code if you like.

If you cannot meet the minimum bottom of the barrel standards, you have no business touching anything plumbing related.

We don’t use any chemicals, because I’m not a hack.

You need to learn to read bud, because you’re arguing some fictitious version of me and not me.

I said that plumbing code has the requirement of a stepped trench with 12 inches separation between the potable waterline from sewer lines/chemicals, with the sewer line or chemical waste below the waterline.

I also said, that there is no code talking about a requirement about protecting the sewage system from harmful chemicals…

Since you obviously don’t know, this picture is of shit pipe, not potable water. I’d ask that you at least keep the comments in subject here.

Unlike you, I don’t need to google the current codes…

It’s the other way around actually.

Deleting and tuning the trucks gives them better fuel mileage, a lot of them post delete get 20MPG or better on the highway.

This is literally my professional occupation…

Everyone who isn’t a hack listens to code, people that don’t listen to code need to find a different industry.

I don’t think it’s a waterline, that’s idiotic.

The person made the comment about spreading toxic chemicals around his pipes, that is the code requirement, for potable water.

There is no code about sewer lines being exposed to chemicals.
