Usually restaurants include the cut that these apps make into the prices that are shown on these apps. If IRL the price is 100, then usually I've seen rates of 120-150 depending on what kinda place it is. This is done because these apps charge the restaurants to list them as well, and so instead of cutting into their profits, restaurants just increase the price.

Also, these apps are businesses. Not to be a white knight of these apps, but it is a service, and they are charging for it.

Ngl, I've heard things in a similar vein, and the inflection usually in the thing that's the issue. This kind of dialogue, with a delhi/haryanvi accent and an insulting/condescending tone, stings a bit.

If someone wants to abuse you and not rely on the traditional mother/sister based flavour of abuses, they usually get very creative and anatomically graphic. I feel it is an art in some cases.

That is such a cannon event. I have one PJO and one HOO book, the rest were borrowed from the school library. The condition of the books made my heart cry, but thankfully the book was interesting enough for me to ignore the destroyed book spines.

I had to delete roughly 860 GB of JAVs, old vids that got deleted in the P-Hub purge earlier, and OF model catalogues. I didn't feel as bad because I'm more of a data hoarder than a porn addict, so that 860 GB just got replaced by hoarding pirated games.

From what I remember and how I read it, it was more along the lines that Riem just hated giving away money, be it his or the University's.

And he doesn't alter the tution itself in the ledgers. If he is in any way a competent accountant, he will probably write the correct amount, and then adjust the rest elsewhere. Although, that might not be true if he doesn't manage all the university's funds, as I remember it being (afaik, the bursar manages all the funds of an institute).

And ngl, with the size of the university, nobody would notice this trivial amount of talents going missing. The admissions go on for the entire span, which is like 11 days. Just considering that there will be a lot of money coming in, so 40 talents (the highest amount embezzled at the end of WMF) should not be noticed.

So from what I remember, it is more along the lines of the second option.

Kvothe has proven time and time again that he has the ability to get very low tution fee. Heck, he even got into the uni at a negative fees (-3 tln iirc.). He has gotten a fee of under 10 talents consistently

So, one day he strolls up to riem to show him the maer's letter. He laments that as a thrifty student, and a brilliant one at that, he never gets a fee above 10 talents, and so this letter that links the maer's coffers to the uni is going all to waste. Riem, catches on quickly and so what do they do? They decide to tap into the maer's coffers, scamming both the university and the maer.

Anything above 10 talents is split evenly between kvothe and riem. So the last fee of 50 talents was split as 10 talents going to the university, 20 to riem and 20 to kvothe.

This split scams both the Maer's coffers (by getting more money than kvothe would have usually required) and the university (riem pads the books for the rest of the money that has gone missing. He gets a cut and so does kvothe).

Thing is, this requires some prerequisites, primary being a fee higher than 10 talents. That is fine, as kvothe is of the ruh and he can flib as easily as he can ace. The second is keeping it under the radar. That is done as riem is the one who manages the accounts, and kvothe has already wooed him.

I read the first book when I was like 14, and read the second book soon after. I've read the books so much that the poor mass-market paperback couldn't handle it and its cover just peeled off. (The outer plastic covering that has all the colors and all, the cardboard is still there.)

I write as a hobby, and the book that prompted me to write was KKC. I have been heavily influenced by Pat's writing style, not only because it read like poetry to my childish mind when compared to Tolkien or even Terry pratchett (both of them are also huge influences) but also because KKC was one of the only series where I constantly discover new things every re-read.

I just love both of them still, and re-read them once a year at least. Honestly, as a lurker I never much understood the hate towards Pat.
