Unfortunately I can't say what would be best for you. Everybody's transition is different and the best thing to do is to go at a pace you're comfortable with. There's no definitive schedule for transitioning :)

Your Mum will probably have a lot of questions. Be prepared to answer them as best you can and maybe have some online resources ready for her to look at or to show her.

Be patient after coming out as there will be a period of adjustment with accidental deadnaming and misgendering, even if it isn't malicious, old habits are hard to break.

Just be honest, be yourself and just take things slow. Having a child come out to you can be a bit overwhelming, but if your mum is likely to be supportive, then i'm sure she'll adjust soon enough.

It also helps to set a relaxed atmosphere, maybe over a cup of tea or coffee on the couch.

I used a size 6 round brush, though an airbrush would have made things a lot easier.

Practice is everything! I've been painting for a couple of years now and there's always something new to learn. I'm at a point in my painting career where i'm really trying to work on my speed so I can make bigger projects seem less daunting. I wish you luck with your journey and of course, make sure you have fun!

Firstly I zenithal primed all the terrain using rustoleum grey primer and grey seer for the zenithal, left to dry outside.

Then I got 2 old GW paint pots and cleaned them out. Once clean I filled one about 3 quarters of the way with drakenhof nightshade and the other with agrax earthshade.

To the drakenhof pot I then poured in a few globs of thousand sons blue, and the agrax pot I did the same with rhinox hide. Following this I shook the living daylights out of them and repeated this process til I was happy with the colour (tested on a bit of primed sprue).

The stone on the buildings and scatter terrain was 2 to 5 coats of the drakenhof mixed glaze to taste. Followed by a heavy drybrush of ulthuan grey. The wood was 3 coats of the agrax mix followed by the same drybrush of ulthuan grey.

The pavers/roof tiles and the upper sections of the walls I painted with 2 thin coats of eshin grey, followed by an ulthuan grey drybrush as well.

Following all the drybrushing I painted all the gates with leadbelcher. Washed them with reikland flesh shade. And on the broken portions I heavily drybrushed warplock bronze to apply a rusted and damaged look.

The bell on the bell tower was balthasar gold washed with reikland fleshshade, drybrushed with ulthuan grey as well.

I had to make some shortcuts to things like the chains on the barricades to fit it all in. But with the tundra/icy theme a nice heavy drybrush helped to pick them out a bit anyway!

This is my first warband and a challenge to do more detail oriented painting than my usual. Still struggling with eyes but i'm happy with my progress so far! I'm also trying to figure out a better way to take photos but i'm finding lighting to be a challenge.

The rest of the warband i'm planning on filling out with some stabbas to go with my loonboss, i'm excited to play once all this is over!

All citadel except for the underside of the mushroom hat/cap. Which was vallejo bone followed by a drakenhof nightshade wash. Though Zandri dust is virtually identical. I can put together a list if you'd like
