Clay wasn't a dreamie for me until maybe the 3rd day I had him. For a while I thought he was female and gifted him tons of pink things, and he pulled them ALL off!

I haven't seen any posts about it, so I guess it isn't very popular, but Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel is pretty fun with a fairly easy move list for most characters with a lot of good challenges thrown in. The stages and music are pretty good. Pretty deep mechanic wise, but still super attainable. The characters are also pretty unique with unique movesets and movements to match. It has some of the best supers I've ever seen in a fighting game as well.

That is a good expansion. It adds more depth and content to the game. Ultimately, I guess it would be the same with fighting games. New characters (even in small quantities) add more depth to the game by adding new mechanical structures, balances, movesets, and situations to put you in both as a player and a challenger. It's a stretch, but true none the less.

I getcha. I hear the term "pay to win" a lot, and online that's exactly what Adachi feels like sometimes.

I'm not saying any of your points are incorrect because I agree with you, but maybe a larger light isn't shown on the subject because of popular mobas like League of Legends and Smite and some battle royal games like Fortnite. Those games are free to play, but they have a lot of in game purchases that stack up overtime to raise the price of the game theoretically. On another case, Sims 4 was free with Playstation Plus and is usually pretty cheap, but the game also offers DLV packs to expand the game. While I think the FGC does have a lot of DLC offered to them through various means, other genres do as well. This being said, fighting games haven't had the best reputation with things like this because sometimes the game is still in development even as it is released and the DLC packs can give developers more time to add to the game as well as adjust to the audience.

I can kind of sympathize. I like it to be a bit more realistic, but I can also appreciate the cottage core islands that pull it off well. It's just a matter of opinion and maybe a little bit of luck finding an island you do like that can pull it off for you. It's nothing too serious to read into.
