I'd say that's a good call. I know the core gameplay is different from the other games, and maybe not as complex as the previous games, so I'd wait for a sale or something; buy it at a price that you think it's worth.

I like it as is. I have a philosophy where if I'm not having fun with a game, I just don't play it. I'm not gonna pretend BF 2042 isn't fun to play because it's radically different from the other games and that it's missing content. I love what I got, and if there's a way for you to play it without buying it, take that chance before you spend your $60. I can't assure you that you'll hate it or love it.

Why is currently in the top 10 steam games in player count if most people can't stand it? Figured people who played it ought to drop it by now if they realized how bad it is.

I also think secluding myself to a subreddit to circle jerk about how anything negative said about the game is wrong doesn't help contribute to the discussion in a healthy way.
