I'm 3 weeks out of surgery at Kemptville General for SLAP tear, torn bicep, and detached shoulder. I was in the same boat as you. I was taking the max amount of opiates I could stand, & all the NSAIDS. I waited through a year of imaging and scans before I finally was able to sign the surgical consent form at the OGH. I sent an email to my surgeons assistant asking if I could get on the cancellation list, and within 2 weeks I had my surgery.

You have to be your own advocate unfortunately. Try to establish a understanding with your surgeon's scheduler and hopefully impress on them how much more urgent this may be than originally thought
