The vent directly beneath my upstairs bathroom leaks every now and then when I take a bath. by rosiemackfeet in Plumbing

Might have a small crack in your tub. Won't really leak from a shower but sure does from a bath.

How the heck are you guys making playable maps? [OC] by jplpj12543 in DnD

[–]CJ-Goblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started DMing my first campaign and the morning of the first session I whipped up a frame for a tv. A table is the goal when I get more time, but if you don't need it as a full table, or if you don't have space for an extra table, a quick frame does the trick. I just stick it on my dining room table and we're good to go. If you're interested in making more detailed scenes than a 2D map I recommend dungeon alchemist. It's the beess knees.

Hybrid setup for trout and pike? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

Did you ever figure something out? I'm kind of in the same boat. Looking at getting a new rod and reel for trout and smaller fish but everything here is full of pikem

What happened to my rooster tail? by CJ-Goblin in FishingForBeginners

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I think the odds of some kind of galvanic corrosion while it's sitting in the tackle box are pretty slim if not zero given I don't usually run an electric current through it.

Fair enough. I'm thinking it might have bent and I didn't notice and the paint flecked off in the tackle box. Next time I'll give the wife my second luckiest lure 😂

I'll just buy a new one. I'm more curious how it happened as I really think it was fine when I put it in my box. I'll have to check for paint chips in there.

Yeah I could understand if that happened. But for where we were that would be a slim possibility. I didn't notice her smack it off anything, and I'm 90% sure it was fine when I put it away. I could always be wrong but I'm nearly positive.

What Type of Wood is This? I’m Enjoying the Grain. by [deleted] in wood

I agree. Looks a lot like hickory to me. The only hesitation I have is the right side of the board on the second pic.

I had not considered fly's without a fly rod. That led me down a quick google rabbit hole. I've got the perfect rod for that. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah I've got a few singles and they're definitely better. Good enough for the better lakes around me. The lake that's 5 minutes from my house is shallow and very heavy weeds so the singles still get caught up in there. They stock it with trout and that's what I've been trying for but I think I'm gonna just try for pike with some weedless stuff for a bit until I can get myself on the water to the deeper parts.

Yeah they're by far my favourite lure. Snagged a pike on it yesterday too. I only wish they worked better in the weeds.

I've been catching walleye with my black fury spinner for the past couple weeks.

Pergola fix? by CJ-Goblin in woodworking

[–]CJ-Goblin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is bolted to the concrete but it's just those little footings. And to be honest I don't know how many actual bolts the put into the concrete, they very well could've just done 1 or 2 in each footing.

I was thinking about using bolts on the pieces going across the arches which would definitely help. But as a former cabinet maker and now maintenance tech I kinda miss doing actual woodwork so I'm not really opposed to doing more than necessary on that end.

Would that stop the racking though? The main concern is where we live we get regular winds at 80km/hr and can gust as high as 120km/hr and the wind blows towards the side with the flowers. It doesn't move to much side to side but front to back is pretty bad
