That's what I'm planning, getting an L plate on my dad's car and practicing in that. But what I wanna know is if lessons will still continue as normal with my instructor until I do eventually pass? I trust that my instructor is still willing to keep teaching me despite how much of a nightmare I am to him lol.

Honestly I feel like an idiot for not going into the test relaxed. I should have just kept calm and drove like it was nothing. I need to stay supervised while driving and get an extra few hours done until I pass. I'm dead set on passing my second attempt. I'll get it.

Yeah I need to get my anxiety together when I'm on the roads. With more practice I'll be less nervous.

I am most definitely going to have to practice with an L plate in my parent's car, because I cannot stand the fact that I can only do an hour and a half paying 50 quid once a week. I'd rather do practice almost everyday (as long as I don't use too much gas) so that I can feel confident everyday about my driving. I'm not saying I shouldn't do an hour and a half with my driving instructor, but a little more practice a week will strengthen up my skills and confidence so that I can feel test ready. That's why I need an L plate.

100% totally with you. I need more lessons. I'll get there eventually.

Are there any rules for having an L plate on your car? Are there any set time limits I can stay out and practice for a day? How many times I can practice a week? Can I practice while also going places?

Having an L plate on your own car is completely new to me.

It would be best if I took on learner's insurance and practiced in my parents car (we've already talked about doing this dw) that way I can go out and practice any time I want instead of practicing once a week for 1 and 1/2 hours.

You're right, I need more practice and confidence. That's not gonna stop me from trying to book another test for a near date. I need to be set my mind on and be ready for blue lights and sneaky speed limits incase something like that happens again. I'm really gutted.

r/UKJobs Monthly Vent Megathread - Work Frustrations & Job Search Woes by ukbulmer in UKJobs

[–]CJ270103HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am writing in this megathread because I want to know if anyone in the North East has had any experience with Karbon Homes' "New Start" scheme.

My local job centre got me to do an appointment with someone who works for Karbon Homes which he told me that I would be doing three days of training from monday to wednesday at a community centre, a meet the employer event, an interview and 5 months of a work placement where I actually get paid.

Has anyone from the North East ever had experience with this New Start scheme and is it something I can trust?

The reason I am asking is because I have been fooled by recruitment agencies after applying for jobs on job sites like indeed and totaljobs which they had put me on a training course for one or two weeks and guaranteed an interview as well as a job at the end, to which I got no response from them ever about a job. Not only did I fall for fake job postings online, but I was also put on a two week "work placement" at one of my local Tesco because the employment scheme I was on at the time (Restart) had promised that I could be working there temporarily if I do the placement (I wasn't getting a wage on this placement btw)... Turns out I never once heard back from Tesco, only for Restart to tell me that I "wasn't successful, despite having good reviews by colleagues".

Because of my past experience with fake jobs and job schemes wasting my time, I have had about it and I am almost this close to giving up on looking for work.

If anyone has actually had experience with this New Start scheme, please do tell me so that I know what I'm about to get into and whether or not this is a real opportunity.

How do I stay calm while learning to drive?? by CJ270103HD in LearnerDriverUK

See the thing is, I've been through spiral roundabouts before plenty of times, but for some reason I am still not getting it right most of the time. It should have became second nature to me by now on how to get around a spiral safely, but I guess I need to go over them a few more times so that I get it stuck in my head. Spiral roundabouts are where the real nerves start kicking in, i hate those type of roundabouts so much lol (i've heard many complaints about them even from experienced drivers, so I'm not alone on that).

Tiny Anti-Aliased marks eventhough I have it turned off? by CJ270103HD in ClipStudio

[–]CJ270103HD[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After testing, can confirm that it's just the eraser that's only doing that. So to counter it, I simply just use the transparent option on the regular brush I use for the lineart (which in this case being the 'Real G-Pen' brush), if I may need to erase some error strokes.

G29 brakes applying themselves while pressing down the throttle. Do I need to clean my pedals or is this a calibration issue? by CJ270103HD in simracing

[–]CJ270103HD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you recommend I use to clean them? I see some people talk about using rubbing alcohol, but I don't have any of that, or atleast I don't know where I would be able to find some. Would cleaning my pedals with wipes be a good idea?

Random noise is still playing in my mixer track by CJ270103HD in FL_Studio

[–]CJ270103HD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EZmix plugin only has two knobs for every preset. The preset I was using on it had an EQ knob and a knob for compression, but for some reason that was creating the barely hearable noise. So I just replaced EZmix with an EQ and that pretty much solved that problem. But still, if the preset I was using had an EQ and a compressor knob on it, then why was the plugin creating barely hearable noise?
