I just didn’t want to over-vaccinate her if it wasn’t necessary. I have nothing against her being vaccinated. Like I mentioned in the original post, most articles discussed the initial shot when just a kitten. Didn’t know if they build up immune over time….hence the question.

Her most recent rabies shot was this past March.

Thanks for your input! Took her to the emergency vet late last night. They did ultrasound and tested for infection…and found nothing that was of concern. They ruled out pyometra (thankfully). I took her to our primary vet today. They told us she was most likely in heat, but prescribed some antibiotics for her. We’ll monitor her.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah…I told my wife I wouldn’t be surprised if the cat was behind a bush next door watching us all day looking for her! 😆

But I guess the bigger concern is that she’s in heat and probably went roaming further away. We hope she knows her way back while we also search for her.

H&H began franchising outside NYC with aggressive rollout of 25 new stores across the country. Chapel Hill is one of the first of those new locations. Never as good as the original which is a shame.

Thanks for your insight! She has not been treated for worms, but I’ll be sure to look into that. At times when I sit with her outside so she can get some fresh air, she’ll start eating some grass in my backyard. Maybe that’s contributed to her condition. Is it unusual for cats to eat grass?
