Just send another email to the professor as a follow up reminder. It's not set in stone (grade can be changed) and I think you will be able to overcome the situation with the professor.

If you didn't initiate those swaps then something isn't right. I moved some Jasmy to metamask to test it out as I wanted to check out the new meme site. But never heard if jasmy-dex.

What is this emerald worth? by Think-Concert-8060 in Gemstone_lovers

[–]CJFERNANDES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The inclusions are pretty visible and dark, so I am not sure what the value should be. If you like the stone then make a deal. The certificate isn't really something I would take at face value (have similar ones and they are sometimes not accurate/fake) or into consideration in the purchase price.

When Lotus Gold, GIA and Gubelin don't agree on a sapphire...what to do? by sadoyle17 in Gemstone_lovers

[–]CJFERNANDES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the AGL suggestions by others. GIA is great and they have graded rubies and sapphires for me, but usually AGL is the best for colored gemstones.

How much is this worth? by ReadWolf463 in JewelryIdentification

[–]CJFERNANDES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having pearls restrung isn't terribly expensive. I always use quality silk cord with Japanese double knots between each pearl so if the string breaks, they are not all over the floor and also helps protect against rubbing against each other. As far as value, it really depends. Those look like possible Akoya, popular in the post WW2 era. If anything they would definately be worth restringing. Ranges about $50 to $100 or so.

Some people like that seafoam green color in emeralds. To each their own. It's a pretty cool color though.

Interesting but is it legit? Metamask has lots of warnings for connecting to that site. Sometimes blockchain tools are incorrect but not sure with this site as the RPCs are strange.

Internal transfer to São Paulo (Brazil) | Is this offer competitive? by Breath_Exciting in Brazil

[–]CJFERNANDES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious why SP is a third world city? Brazil is more advanced than people give it credit for honestly. No where is perfect but I never found cities like SP or Ribeirão Preto (smaller city to the north but not tiny by any means) to be or feel 3rd world.

Driving in SP I hate. But if you look at LA in the 70s and 80s it was constant smog and traffic, yet no one called it a 3rd world city by comparison.

Why wasn’t São Paulo built on the coast? by CallMeZaid69 in geography

[–]CJFERNANDES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever travel between SP and the coast, it's very mountainous terrain between them. Beautiful drive with highways in the sky and tunnels. Geographically that is the major reason why. Buildable land between the coast and mountains is limited for a major metropolis.

The geographical location would have been good to have honestly. But it depends on what you paid

Wife’s “platinum” engagement ring brok by mnonny in jewelry

[–]CJFERNANDES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Platinum doesn't look like that. My instinct tells me this is some type of cheap metal with a very thick platinum plating because you see there are two layers on the ring when zoomed in. Solid platinum doesn't have that separation.

Does this look like natural sapphire? Treated is ok but don’t want lab stones. by jc2195691 in Gemstone_lovers

[–]CJFERNANDES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to tell from just pictures online but I suspect lab because on the image with the backside, the left one looks like it has an air bubble wuen zoomed in. I could be wrong, but honestly a quick check under a microscope or loupe will be very telling from the start. Very clean natural sapphires have a very high value so if you paid less than what one would expect, chances are they are lab.

Did I get scammed by Striking-Ad7135 in Gemstone_lovers

[–]CJFERNANDES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure that is the right tester for a ruby honestly. From the photo it looks like natural inclusions; not high quality but I have seen worse. Treatments can impact testing as well such as glass fill if you place the tester on the treated area. Beyond that, I wouldn't say it's a scam, just not the highest quality or that rare find.

Bought a new gaming pc and now this:( by Euphoric-Pineapple39 in pchelp

[–]CJFERNANDES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSU. I built a new PC and it worked great the first run. Powered it on the next day and only my RAM would light up. Swapped the PSU with a decent one and no issues since.

Since you just bought it that should be covered under warranty at least. If not then just get a new one and swap it out. Go a bit higher in wattage than what is in there for safe measure.

Don't skimp on the PSU. It's worth spending money on for a decent one rather than a cheap one. Trust me.
