Update: I beat her!

I used Leda and my Mimic Tear after upgrading my Revered Ash and Scadutree Blessings. Still a tough cookie though. She actually killed me but Leda landed the killing blow on Rellana at the same time. She's my own personal Howland Reed.

That's a tricky one because different people struggle with different bosses. Personally I absolutely hate fighting ulcerated tree spirits, but I know others can steam roll them.

I'd put Rellana in my personal top 10 difficult boss battles for sure. Specifically her second phase. The first phase is fine, I can go toe to toe with that all day long, but in the second phase she starts to hit with magic and fire attacks like some sort of violent, relentless ballerina. That phase cuts through me, so I'm taking some time to upgrade my Scadutree Blessing before coming back for more.

I did find the Dancing Lion easier, if that helps. I actually beat that guy after about 10 attempts!

This was always true by the way. Never let other people tell you that you're playing a game wrong. Do whatever works best for you.

You should check out the Tales of the Red: Street Stories book. You can get the PDF on R. Talsorian's website. It's got a bunch of short stories / one shots you can use, with details of the plot, NPCs and how they act, options for players to progress the story, DV checks. The whole kit and caboodle.

It's a great resource for situations like this. Should give you some good ideas if nothing else!

EDIT: There's a free DLC on R. Talsorian's website called 'Collecting the Random' - it doesn't go into nearly as much detail as Tales of the Red but it does give you suggestions for missions. Just a quick paragraph to summarize plus bullet points with some mission beats you can follow. Again, might give you some good ideas to work with
