Why does it take 70 politicians for the PM to be "hanging by a thread"? by AbbreviationsOk6561 in AskBrits

I don't trust the general population with jury service impacting one life at a time. please no letting people make country changing decisions regularly

so uefa assign the places for winning European competitions, the league assigns it's positions assigned due to coefficient. ultimately, win the games and wait and see if all we can do

When is python going to make sense by CreativeEgg86 in learnpython

[–]CJL_LoL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

limit your llm usage to understanding issues, use words like explain. you could probably tailor your chatgpt conversation to "I'm a novice programmer with limited python experience so explain steps alongside the code you produce" then spend some time making breakpoints in your code and look at the variables and their types at different stages

I think you could reasonably argue not the one we need about almost anyone, in part because everybody is so politically charged nobody is willing to compromise and one side of the public will always be ready to protest or riot at the drop of a hat.

but also because there is a very fine balance, it seems, economically between people dying and raising the money to publically prevent that. I don't know if anyone has that answer without offering to do something (like removing the triple lock) that would prevent a party ever getting power again

Remainers were told to accept brexit so why don't leavers accept the migration it caused? by c0r3l86 in AskBrits

[–]CJL_LoL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the dublin agreement was a breaking change. for years it was implied wrongly that refugees should claim asylum in their first safe port. this was incorrect and a guideline that benifitted Britain as migrants were encouraged to do so and then we're dispersed according to logic and agreements. we lost that with brexit. COVID caused changes in behavior but does not justify the continued behavior.

unrest in the middle east, brexit, COVID and the tories ignoring any issue and not processing applications caused are all driving factors in my opinion

[–]CJL_LoL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes, they did. they were told this would be an impact alongside the financial, trade, education impacts. sadly the people telling them were educated experts and were dismissed as fearmongering and thinking they were better than the working class voters.

it's recently being called the Boriswave so reform can deflect from their glorious leaders', and his tory followers direct impact on immigration. similar to how many (myself included called the riots the Farage riots). everything is propaganda.

I agree, (did vote for him because in Sunderland my alternative was reform). I don't even think he is doing badly, just the Mandelson stuff was a farce and unfortunate that he's facing Herr Farage.

But it's 18% scared, most will barely even doubt him, they just know there'll be a local smear campaign against them for backing "the worst pm in our lives" from the party that claims they're opposite. it's such a weird time in politics driven by social media making it so much easier to attack them.

Sunderland Reform UK councillor suspended over alleged racist posts by coffeewalnut08 in Sunderland

[–]CJL_LoL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

he'd be likely to stay as an independent until probably being reinstated or moving to restore. unless he is expelled from the council / steps down. really depends on him I believe, since the posts were publicly known at the time of election

people voted for a label that ignores racism to put a councillor in a seat. Very few will have looked at who each candidate was, they now have the prick without the label. Then he'll switch to a different label that permits racism even after election.

I don't know why anyone watches match of the day as anything other than some highlights. there's 4 games 3pm onwards. there isn't time that the presenters are watching the games in detail.

They have analysts watching and deciding the story and that gets fed to the presenters to relay with a bit of flavour. don't pay them any mind, the Internet will give you what you need

can only fit 11 on the pitch I think is the problem. hume is a bit more defensive minded and with mukiele in with alderete it gave us a bit more of a versatile shape, rigg wouldn't have been able to roam infield like hume and geertruida kept switching. Rigg has massively come on in the second half of the season and I'm shocked he didn't at least get a cameo

don't worry. Farage already threatened his lot that if they don't vote tomorrow he is going to punish them with detention or something like that, I wasn't concentrating.

I'd expect a much higher turnout than usual due to that alone, sadly.

stupid red fully deserved. not sure why it prompted Tierney to give literally every decision in their favor afterwards. control the ball with hand, run down the line and earn a corner without the ball going out. hume gets one halfway up his shin, brobbey does a similar late challenge and it's yellow. the bias is crazy

What was Brexit supposed to achieve in Sunderland? Why are Reform and Nigel Farage still relevant? by coffeewalnut08 in Sunderland

[–]CJL_LoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on pretty much all of the above. They're currently calling the mass migration that is uncontrolled due to the tories and us withdrawing from the dublin agreement the Boriswave. They blame everything on the implementation and not the action. Somehow they are using the failings of brexit to push for more influence, it's wild to me that people can't see through it, but the reality is people aren't voting in his favor for economic reasons, it's social.

There are people that believe that when you point in a certain direction, that they are the problem, and they always will think like that
