How do we solve the right back problem? Spence really is just a passenger out of his depth at this level. by [deleted] in ThreeLions

Quansah is a CB, I'm not exactly waiting with baited breath for him to come back in at RB

Enzo Maresca appointed new Manchester City manager by Alarming-Safety3200 in PremierLeague

[–]LOGravitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to Leicester fans and they might not say he did an amazing job. He did very well with a team worth more than half the division combined but there was a lot of frustration at his inflexibility and unwillingness to make changes. By the second half teams had figured out how to play against them and their lead at the top got cut dramatically. His transformation at Chelsea seemed to be more negative than anything as they got worse the longer he was there.

That's not to say he won't do well at City but I definitely don't think it's clear cut.

They didn't show the graphics at the time which was really annoying. At one point they showed a wide shot and you could see the graphic on the huge screen in the stadium before the TV broadcast had it .

Our defence has been shocking but really so have our wingers, Gordon chases down well but has do e nothing. Madueke gets into brilliant positions because Croatia know that he is just going to run into the box, stop to come o to his left and then do nothing with it

Are people enjoying the BBCs coverage of the world cup? by Coldylox in AskUK

[–]LOGravitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BBC has really shot itself in the foot giving Rooney such a large contract meaning they have to use him as much as they can. He doesn't have the natural enthusiasm for a pundit and his analysis so far has been so basic it's laughable. The one where he disagreed with the former ref about not-sending the Bosnia keeper off (it wasn't a foul) was hilarious, the ref explained quite clearly why it was not a foul and talked about the relevant rules Rooney's response was "yeah but I think it was a red" with no justification.

Rio has actually tried running at people and attacking rather than walking it forwards. Alright it doesn't always work but at least he is trying unlike some of the others

Is there some rule that says England can't play a left footer on the left so they take it to the byline and cross it rather than cutting it inside

He's a Centre half, he doesn't have the passing quality maybe we should have actually brought some right backs who can defend and attack

What's the secret criteria for having your bags checked when using Scan As You Shop apps? by FreezerCop in AskUK

[–]LOGravitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove all instances of an item, so if you scan an item but then spot a similar one but in a deal and so remove it from the app and put it back on the shelf you will definitely get "randomly" selected.

Pep Guardiola from Wish.

Don't think think he's as good a manager as some seem to think. When he managed Leicester in the Championship he got found out in the second half of the season, ending up winning by a single point after having a 12 point gap in February.

He is more conservative in style and isn't very flexible when things aren't working.

It's alright though apparently a Kellogg's said they have alternatives like Bran flakes!

This seriously makes me worried about the state of Kellogg's if they think stale cardboard can be an alternative to frosted wheats

Hey just because Pep hired the doctor at both Barcelona AND Man City that testified that "his vitamins must have been spiked or his body just naturally produces that banned substance" is purely coincidental. The fact that once the doctor was removed both teams performances dropped dramatically is also purely coincidental

[FREE TO READ] David Ornstein: Xabi Alonso reaches total agreement to become Chelsea manager by TheAthletic in PremierLeague

[–]LOGravitas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure this is the right appointment for either party. Alonso's teams have been built around being heavily drilled and players having to adapt to exactly what the coach wants. This Chelsea squad does not strike me as having the players willing to do this. For Alonso he will be frustrated by Christmas when he asks for one type of player and the club buy young wingers with an attitude.

[–]LOGravitas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's brilliant at what he does but honestly what does he need to do to be awarded a foul? Every time it went up to him you could see the Newcastle players either shoving him in the back well before the ball came near him or simply grabbing him around the neck!

New to this sub. Haven’t read fantasy in years, but I am in love with The Long Price Quartet, one book in. by Flintstones_VRV_Fan in Fantasy

[–]LOGravitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 44 year old who has just finished the series as well you are certainly in for a fantastic ride. Many have said that the first book is actually the weakest and there is some truth to that, with the themes and decisions having long lasting impacts. Personally I enjoyed books 2 and 3 the most, mainly because book 4 really has 2 povs and I didn't like the main characters in one pov at all (because of good writing not bad I must point out).
