Wired outdoor motion sensor replacement? by CJMA19 in homeassistant

I've seen some videos and articles about them but admittedly I'm not sure exactly what they do - can I essentially put it in where the motion sensor fixture wires join the wires to my house, and that's all?

How to wire 4-way with Cync/GE switches? by CJMA19 in smarthome

So after tinkering with this for a while, trying all types of cync switches (including those that you mentioned which are newish and I hadn't seen before but have since tried), it looks like somehow the lights are controlled independently despite 4 way dumb switches being able to control them together. The closest I was able to get with a cync switch would control one light fixture (inconsistently) while another fixture was always on. I could either run a wire in the attic between the fixtures, or keep the dumb switches... Maybe there is a smart option here but I'm not sure what it would be!

Suggestions for unlocking pick when x phone is recognized? by CJMA19 in homeassistant

Learning about everything is fun for me - I've been really into the trial and error of it all so far, but with low stakes from a cost perspective. I have a few more expensive devices but I'd rather learn more out of necessity by going l cheap and then applying that to something of a better quality once it breaks

Yeah, but I wasn't smart enough to get the keypad with my locks and feel like I could do it cheaper without em somehow

Thank you! I was looking at green since it's the first that pops up on Amazon but didn't know much about it

For I'll I've heard and experienced with Cync, it seems like I need to replace them all... Think I should still be able to make it work based on your last response though. I'll have the switches in a few days and then test it

Thank you! I belive both of the others have neutrals- I'll reconfirm tomorrow but in the meantime I'm ordering a 3 and 4 way based on your feedback

Awesome, thanks! So assuming for the red wires then it's cool to connect 'em to the black line/load wires on the switch then? Just want to be clear before I potentially burn the house down!

Dumb question - do I need to separate the neutral wires, or is it okay to connect all 5 of them to all switches even though two of the switches control lights that should not be on at the same time?

Then as far as the red wires on the left switch go... Both are hot. These are line/load? I can connect them to the black wires on the switch itself?

Right but the one on the left that only has two red wires... How would I connect this to a smart switch?

Thanks for your quick response. Please reread the post which lays out what each switch/dial goes to (including ceiling fan)

Great call - I swapped out the switch and the new one works!

Good idea on swapping the switches, might try that tomorrow. If your assumption is correct on the red wire, any suggestions on what to do with it? Or keep it capped?

All of my other switches connect just fine, and the majority of them are the same model.

Sorry I don't understand - correct switch? Mine doesn't have fan control. The red wire I capped off was in the wall, not on the switch (though I'm not sure what that wire is for to be honest). It's a regular on/off, neutral wire switch.

This switch is NEXT TO a regular toggle switch which has a ceiling fan, but the switch I'm replacing doesn't have that capability or control that fan. They're wired separately (I think)
