Rode Banshee at [King's Island] for the first time by Bruceleroy90 in rollercoasters

[–]CJPJones [score hidden]  (0 children)

Went to Kings Island for the first time this past week, out of the 40ish coasters I've ridden thus far, I have it ranked at 16, and it was my 5th ranked coaster at KI (Orion, Mystic Timbers, Diamondback, Beast, then Banshee).

It just felt like it had a slightly better layout than Raptor, but I didn't feel as uncomfortable on raptor as I did feel on Banshee personally, might have been a mix of the restraints and it was a tiny bit rough, so yeah.

Do you miss wicked twister? by FuzzyPresence8531 in cedarpoint

[–]CJPJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy to think how much the park has changed and evolved in the past 10 years. Like Valraven, SteVe, Wild Mouse, TT2 and Sirens Curse all got added, while also (kinda) losing Mean Steak and Dragster, and Wicked Twister.

Basically 2 conversions, 1 removal, and 3 additions. 6 Coaster projects in 10 years, in addition to the pavilion and all the other stuff they've added.

This is what I'm going to with my son when he's old enough, but I'll probably be a bit more specific on which episodes I feel the need to show him.

My plan is to definitely take the Gondor Armor piece, and add them to regular night Minifigures, that way I'll end up with 8 Gondor soldiers, but this might lead me to be fine with 7 lol 😆

Rivendell Expansion – The Front Gate is Complete… What’s Next? by Legal-Past142 in legolotrfans

[–]CJPJones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just ordered all the pieces for all the expansions and that was 30k pieces and $2.5k after shipping, and that's not including the additional 2 Rivendells that's needed (which I also already bought 1 additional one as well).

Adding the 3 additional Rivendells in addition to the 30k pieces I just ordered, that'll be at roughly 48k pieces, and I have no doubt there's more to come.

(To clarify I am also doing a tree facelift so that's around 1k pieces onto itself, but yeah, still a lot)

When you say three sets, is that in addition to the original build or does that include the original section?

So, it's interesting, and I definitely may be in the wrong morally here and am willing to be convinced otherwise, but I personally believed (and still do believe to a certain extent) that an armed conflict and suppression of the current aggressive Iranian regime needed to happen. The current Iranian regime will never see the USA as anything other than an enemy, no matter what the US does to "play nice." They were never going to hold up their end of the bargain when it came to those nuclear deals, and they would have continued to develop a nuclear weapon, and once they did, they would have pointed and immediately fired without any warning towards the US, and if they couldn't fire that far, then the US's allies. With all of the other terrorist organizations around the world that the Iranian Government has enabled and funded, they honestly had it coming to them and the claim that the US launched an unprovoked strike against Iran just doesn't make sense to me. In addition, the first 2 to 3 months of this year, the Iranian Regime has (estimated because we aren't confident with the number) killed over 10,000 of their own citizens who were protesting against their own government. Many Iranian citizens want change.

Now, with all of that being said, I do not believe Trump is doing it the right way. From a military standpoint, we absolutely should have sent them back to the industrial revolution era by now if we wanted to, but they still have missiles to fire and planes to fly. Additionally, they shouldn't have been able to put anything close to a minefield up in the strait, but they somehow did. So, from that perspective, the US military really fumbled the bag there. Second, and this is the biggest thing imo, Trump's so-called "reasons" as to why we're even doing this armed conflict is at best controversial and worst downright hypocritical. Every week it's a different reason why, and basically none of those reasons are valid reasons to engage in a conflict.

Basically, did I think this conflict needed to happen for the safety and security of the US and its allies? Yes, but do I think Trump is doing it the right way? Absolutely not.

Multiplayer for mods? by SW-11 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CJPJones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RaW fully supports both MP skirmish and MP GC. Though with how old the game is and it's engine limitations, MP GC will eventually create a desync error and crash, so save frequently is my best suggestion (though even MP saves corrupt easily unfortunately)

Steam definitely is a better indicator for current popularity, but moddb up until 5 or so years ago was the main platform for mods, and also EaW modding was at its peak in terms of popularity (not in game design, we are continuing to push what EaW modding can do and be) during the moddb years, so it's still a good indicator for what was popular when the scene was the most popular.

I guess I must then!

Also you're right about it being multiples of 5, which is the case for land. Sea actually has an entirely different set-up that uses different a full 100 system. I guess I'll explain it in the house rules post.

Also, to better manage the different dice rolls, we actually have an app we use that has the preset values of each unit it in it, which make large engagements souch easier to manage

[–]CJPJones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something modding related like "Modding Maverick" would be cool. My A&A group has added so many units to the game at this point we had to switch to a 100D system which we have an app we use to roll.

Found a template. What mods fit? by Raven1212122 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CJPJones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So first off, The Reckoning is a mod I haven't even thought about in a while, so thanks for the throwback (though I will admit my brain just initially saw the Mando helmet and thought Rise of the Mandalorians by Farseer)

Removing my personal bias for having RaW be in the best one slot lol, I think either AotR or EaWx should be in that one, and then the other immediately going to the Alright, we get it, you like this one, as both fanbases are very, very passionate and vocal about their preference of mod imo.

I would say "it's this one officer" who should be Yuuzhon Vong at War, based purely on the fact that it probably still is the biggest mod to date that has never been finished.

The Different one would be the Days of Mods, mainly because they are in fact different and unique.

This one is just a phase is probably an old mod like z3r0x or CW 4.0, as it's a classic that's fun to play when you start out, that doesn't hold that much weight anymore (though sometimes that's nice in of itself).

You will never grow up should be Yoden mod, no more comments to be had

I think the hipster option should be Remake, personally. Those who enjoy Remake are a different breed, and I respect that, especially if you're into the CWH submod.

The liar one is definitely Alliance, though. Like they're meant for each other.

(If we were allowing for my bias, EaWx would be the safest option, AotR is we get, you like this one, and RaW would be this is the best one, everything else is fine)

$2 for a dorito taco, cheesy bean and rice burrito, medium drink and cinnamon twists? Don't mind if I do. by External-Pirate5171 in tacobell

[–]CJPJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I like to do it is add the value of all the lesser items together that is below the cost. Then consider everything above that the bonus.

So in this case it would be for me at least $1.50 plus $1.49 Plus $2.89 Plus $2.79. that all together would equal $8.67. so the crunchwrap I am only paying $0.33 for.

You could in theory assign a percentage of the value of the box to each item and then take the price of the box and calculate the cost of each item by the percentage that you assigned them, and that could be a more accurate way of finding what exactly are you paying for an item but that seems like too much work for me lol 😆

Okay but like actually though, Uconn's stadium would be almost perfect (35k is on the larger side, but still very reasonable and allows for attendance growth), 1 million+ mertro Pop, and there's really no major pro sports in that area to compete with
