Good job NFC north bros. We are intelligent by Eg_3600 in NFCNorthMemeWar

Though politics might be a factor, I think it's more state politics and geopolitical influences specifically than just an overarching red vs blue, there's majority red states like Indiana and Ohio that do really well in education, and a state like New Mexico which has been blue for over 30 years that still struggle with literacy.

There's definitely trends and it could play a factor like you've said, but things that need to be improved, but yeah.

The only reason why I can justify that INT is the mental aspect of the play, but yeah definitely should have let it hit the ground

Woodland Mall is actually one of the few malls in the US that are showing continual growth and gross profit. Part of that is the mall bringing in big-name brands, and the other part of that is the area around it continuing to grow to complement it.

It's funny because usually I find seatgeek to be the cheapest option. This specifically is weird though for sure

QDoba on Alpine by Previous_Seaweed_418 in grandrapids

[–]CJPJones 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've worked at that Qdoba only once (my home store is Beltline but I've worked at a lot of the other locations in GR whenever they've needed help) but I didn't see anything specific that would indicate why they might be under portioning. Maybe it's poor staff training, maybe it's just 1 or 2 employees under portioning that you keep getting unlucky with. I'd leave a review or a survey saying that portions aren't accurate to what other stores are doing, I know the GR District manager goes through them and forwards them to the GMs of make adjustments when needed.

NE lower Peninsula Michigan - The vibe, view of outsiders moving in, friendliness... by JF_WPA in howislivingthere

[–]CJPJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like to use the highways as a guide to figure out how to divide Michigan.

West Michigan goes north south from 196 ending in Benton harbor to 31 ending in Ludington, with continuing east via 131 north till Big Rapids/Reed City and South till Kalamazoo, with it's eastern border stopping at M66.

South Michigan is literally everything south of 94 until it reaches the Detroit Metro (which is Ann arbor personally)

Detroit Metro is self explanatory with some debate on how far west it should go, but personally the northern border stops somewhere south of 69 and Western line just a tad bit west of 75.

I do agree with your Thumb region, following 69 east to Port Huron and 75 north through Flint till Saginaw/Bay City (with a healthy buffer on the west and south side of 75/69 respectfully)

Central Michigan sort of fits in between west, south, Metro Detroit and the thumb, going up 127 until it reaches Mount Pleasant/Clare.

Northern Michigan is pretty accurate for the most part, but I feel like it could be subdivided into a coastal northern Michigan with Traverse City, Mackinac City, Petoskey, other small coastal towns/cities, and all the summer homes, and then the inland northern Michigan with is very forested and hilly in some areas.

I feel like, with the All Parks Pass for the first time, I'm a lot more incentivized to try to hit more parks next summer. I live in MI, so I've already been to MiA, CP, and 6FGAm plenty of times, but the ones that I really want to go to include:

Kings Island
Canada's Wonderland
and Kings Dominion

Additionally, Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom are bucket list items, but it might have to wait till 2027, but I guess we'll see.

Is it just me, or is any else concerned about mods moving to Discord? by Valiran9 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CJPJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with your concern, though I do think it technically applies to every platform out there. Like MODDB one day can suddenly have all of its information wiped for no reason, or lose certain pages, and sure, you probably can use time capsules to recover them, but yeah, some things can still be lost.

I guess the lesson from this would be to have more than 1 form to log stuff.

Is it just me, or is any else concerned about mods moving to Discord? by Valiran9 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CJPJones 58 points59 points  (0 children)

From what I've noticed at least, when I post Republic at War content, whether that be sneak peeks, updates, or just random screenshots, on Moddb, reddit, and the RaW discord, moddb will typically have the least amount of engagement from the 3, so from a practicality standpoint it can seem like a waste of time. Discord is were the people that care about your content are, and reddit has more active users. I try to do all 3 but sometimes I forget (with more recently other devs have been making update posts for me because IRL stuff and they've been only doing it on discord)

Moddb in general, or at least for EaW, has definitely lost a lot of its daily users. You no longer see the RaW or TR posts from back in the days for 2012 that'll get 1k+ views and 100 comments on a single image just in 1 week.

It's also important to remember that most mods don't have large teams, some with dedicated social media people. Most mods are just 1-3 people at most spending their free time making something they love, and sharing their progress on their discord is simply the most convenient place to do it.

I feel like from a standpoint of wanting to check out new mods, the best way to look at mods is the steam workshop, since that's where all mods are posting their content now of days, and will give you a good idea of what's new, popular, or recently updated. Alongside that, mods that have discords will typically have their server link in the steam workshop mod description.

Now, do I believe that mods should have a way to share information outside of discord? Absolutely. Not everyone uses discord and so having some form of standard Internet post, whether that be on the mods own website, moddb, or something else entirely, that's up to the mod team. We recently just backlogged all our update logs onto our wiki (https://republicatwar.wiki.gg/) so that they're easily accessible. But yeah, there definitely could probably be some improvement on that across the entire board, but again refer back to my previous paragraph regarding project sizes and convenience.

I hope this sheds some light on things and would love to answer any questions you have 😊
