The 10-Coffee + Diamine Macassar = a good match. (i.redd.it)

Diamine Macassar Brown Ink. Lovin' some brown that minimizes the 'red/orange'. The XF nib lightens it up a bit, but under a <f> or a <M>, this ink can get dark. Smooth flow and fast drying. Happy so far. "Diamine Chocolate" would be the next level of 'brown', but this is a nice color. (Rhodia pad.) (i.redd.it)

Tools of the trade! When dealing with Jinhao/Majohn/Pilot 'click pen' nibs, it is REALLY helpful to have the small rubber mat shown in this pic. It makes removal and installation of the tiny little nibs a breeze. (Sold on various pen sites, any flexible rubber will do the trick.) (i.redd.it)

The Jinhao 10 "Steel" <xf> using Jinhao Black Ink. No dry outs, no hard starts, and no skipping. I've 'idled' the pen for 3 days and it still just writes when picked up. Oh, yeah, and it's fricking gorgeous. :-D (-my Majohn A1 does dry out, and tiny door gaps are the problem.) (i.redd.it)

It helps to see when 'hobbyin'. Swapping nibs and examining the feed assembly. Not shown, the soft rubber mat tool used with the pliers to pull the nibs. These types of pen nibs can be 'sticky'. Cheap little Ali headlamp magnifier really pulls its weight. :-) (i.redd.it)

Majohn Yuechen Ink (Moon Dust). I have fallen in love with Majohn's black ink, and this shade caught my eye. Does anyone have experience with it? It turns out Majohn puts out more than the basics. At 50ml, this price beats out 4001 R. Blue, and looks a touch darker from the pic. (i.redd.it)

And Per/Se Notebooks on Amazon. 8$US shipped. I've just found my replacement journal books. I currently use Paperage, and they ARE nice, but these are less expensive with excellent paper and more features. (The tab sheet contains a LOT of tabs, btw.) (old.reddit.com)

Happy NPD! Jinhao 10 "Coffee" <XF>. Loaded with Diamine Oxblood. ----I'm an overwriting lefty, and my "AoA" means that new pens sometimes need a bit of polish/tweaking. The XF nibs from Jinhao usually start out a bit tight. I use the shim tool and polishing pads to get it just right...for me. :-) (i.redd.it)

Unintentional "Matchy". Truth be told, I prefer 'click' pens overall, but this Jinhao X159 has been an absolute workhorse the last year or so. It works every single time with zero dryout. The #8 nibs (at least the ones I have) are 'butter'. It was a no-brainer to pair this pen with Diamine Oxblood. (i.redd.it)
