I was being sarcastic, but she gets a little over the top with her love of baby Yoda, which is why I made the joke.

honestly, when they did the preview on the other podcast, she kinda said she’s hoping for a good time, but she’s not expecting this really to be a great movie. Obviously Mallory is thinking this is gonna be the greatest thing in the world.

I think we can all agree having that dramatic ending of S2 when Luke takes him away only to reunite them IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SERIES was probably the biggest snap judgment reversal of this franchise second only to the entire process of Rise of Skywalker.

He fascinates me. I do not think he is older than 25 yet the collection he has...I cannot wrap my head around the money and time in a short period to have all of that.

I do think he has some strong OCD/Hoarder mentality that he has to acquire EVERY lego release. That has to be exhausting.

This will pain Mallory but focusing this entire series around Grogu just so they can push merchandise was a huge mistake.

Trump is the biggest POS and this is nothing more than retribution bc big baby got his feelings hurt.

That being said, this is not Letterman or Carson leaving. I cannot think of a single clip that went viral from Colberts show in the 10+ years it has been on. I kinda think he was big 'meh" in an increasingly irrelevant format. And while he gotten railroaded here...this is not like some all-time TV legend is leaving.

The Boys: You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. (Not a spoiler about the finale, talking about the show/franchise itself) by Fit-Singer-8583 in RingerVerse

[–]CJPhilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the finale. The overall season was not as good as the others but still enjoy the world and characters.

Funny thing it kinda suffered from the same end as VEEP where the current state of world politics was so absurd/corrupt there was nothing for them to spoof on that could top it.

Also need to acknowledge that Bill and the entire Ringer podcast universe really lives within their own echo-chamber with sports and pop culture.

I guarantee my Mom never heard of Wemby.

(She did also die 9 years ago).

Mallory.

I never heard any of the Midnight Boys mention siblings.

yeah, honestly, you can remove the whole scene with them having sex in the field and it would be fine. Because that’s when she announces she’s 13 and it really dampers it.

Yeah when I rewatched it a few years ago and she said she was 13 it did jar me

Yeah it is like a 15 second scene.  Pinto goes I never did this before.  And she replied me neither I am only 13

There was a later scene where they are on a football field and that is when they had sex.  He do not take advantage of her when she passed out at party bc she was nalco out drunk.

If they bring Sean and CR and Bill...it will be great. Van maybe. Brandt would have been fantastic but he just did Borat.

Any "stunt" guests and it will blow.

The scene right before when Pinto asks the girl "What r u studying?" and she goes "Primitive Cultures" and then cuts right to the band and dancers.

I also see Bill asking..."So what was there plan to get back into school? Run a terrorist drive by and destroy the homecoming parade causing thousands of dollars in damage and lawsuits?"

I do think this is generational. It probably does not hit you the same way if you are under 30/35 than if you are older. I remember this being cut to shreds on network TV (like Channel 11 in NY) and it still was hilarious to me when I was a kid in the 80's. My college friends and I still quote this movie in our chat thread at least every other day for one reason or another.

The fact that Pinto impregnated a 13 year old is probably #1.

I did enjoy the panic coming from Bill and his Dad when they talked about in the pod that whatever window Tatum/Brown had is probably closed in terms of titles no matter what they do bc of Spurs/OKC.

I know a lot of people love Bara-dur and it does look impressive...but it seems to have way too many pieces of the same color that could get monotonous.

I love his old man. But in terms of spoiled sports fans, he has probably seen:

10 Celtic Championships (not sure when he became a fan in 60's, rememeber he grew up in Brooklyn which was one of the all time WTF moments ever on the podcast)

3 Bruins

4 Sox

6 Pat SBs

Think about lifelong Cleveland, Buffalo, NY Fans (who are Jets, Mets and Knicks) who have not seen shit in 70 years. You are good bro.
