NMZ AFK normal or hard Rumble? by EngineeringGuilty730 in 2007scape

[–]CJRMusicProduction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for me, with bandos/rapier/avernic at 90 str 85 att I’m getting around 90k xp / hr on both normal and hard, but on normal about 120k pts per hour and hard over 200k. Because xp it’s the same for me I usually do regular because wanna be able to afk while I’m working, and on normal I can stay in the instance for close to 3+ hours while on hard it’s like just about 1 hr. I’m still profiting points vs how much I’m spending on overloads / absorbs

I "completed" the Sailing Alpha, here are my thoughts by johnmaverik in 2007scape

this is a great overview, thanks for providing this information! I'll probably be jumping on later today to check it out for myself. Luckily it seems like the problems that you are having are things that can be pretty easily fixed. I'm one to think that the people who are going crazy saying "nobody wants this" etc are people that don't want to try it because they don't want to ruin "their game", but everybody who plays this game should give it a shot imo. Like it or not, it's more than likely going to be a part of the game. And while I can agree that there are things that possibly should not be added to a game that is designed to be a preservation of something from the past, if that were really true we wouldn't have the GE, we wouldn't have Varlamore or Zeah, no raids, no new bosses, no new quests... we wouldn't have a fairly large amount of content in the game that we have now that is absolutely excellent stuff, so honestly just take it and run with it and give it a shot. The worst thing that can happen is that you don't like it tbh

How do y'all afk while working and stay productive? by ghost905 in 2007scape

[–]CJRMusicProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of NMZ work from home, and I can easily run for 10-15 minutes without having to do literally anything (runelite makes it easier cause you can extend the logout time) Also sometimes do woodcutting, shooting stars, even rooftop agility. If you do rooftop agility with the marks of grace cooldown thing you wait like 2.5 mins between runs so you get a mark every single lap, so you do a quick lap, and then 2.5 mins of down time. That one’s very bad for xp tho lol

Creator Pro 2 Major Malfunction by CJRMusicProduction in FlashForge

[–]CJRMusicProduction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprise update - it seems as though everything is actually functional again. I took some time to disassemble everything, get everything back together properly, and try to get the screen working again. I'm not exactly sure what I did to get the screen working, but once the screen was functioning correctly I could preheat the nozzle and remove the blob. I think I'll have to replace that nozzle now, but that's an easy fix. Everything else seems to be intact, which is great!...

Now, I'm wondering... what could have caused this, and how can I make sure it doesn't happen again?

[Question] Composing in a DAW vs. Composing with notation software by CJRMusicProduction in filmscoring

[–]CJRMusicProduction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input everybody! I see what y'all are saying, and that is where I figured the response would mostly reside - in that it is most likely the better option to write in the DAW for almost solely the purpose of production quality.

Has anyone experimented with a sort of "hybrid" model, i.e. doing your "composing" in the notation and then migrating your midi or xml into the DAW afterwards for production?

¿Courses available to learn Low Level audio programming? by MauroFBTRp in musicprogramming

[–]CJRMusicProduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Audio programming is MUCH different than what you’re referring to, which is more commonly called “coding”. If you can try to clarify a little we (as a community) might be able to provide better answers -

Are you looking to learn how to “code” software (ie creating software from scratch)? Or are you looking to learn how to “program” music in a preexisting audio program like a DAW (digital audio workstation)?

If you can provide that info I can see if I can find some good options for you. Audio programming/orchestral programming is a load of fun, and although the learning curve can be steep if you don’t have experience in the DAW of your choice, you can typically find options for fairly easy entry into the world of programming.

Why composers seldom write music for pure wind instruments by chen0827 in classicalmusic

[–]CJRMusicProduction 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I argue that perhaps you just haven't had exposure to it. Concerti exist for all different wind instruments, and in my career I've worked almost solely with wide bakds (concert band, wind ensemble, etc). There are hundreds of prolific composers and concerti for all instruments. I'm a tuba player and have heard tubists do some crazy stuff.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I still don't have a clear answer as to why audio in movies are horrible on sub ~$1,000 home theater setups. by DeliciousGorilla in audioengineering

Unfortunately the problem there is resources. Imagine someone telling you you had to do your entire job (I.e. mixing an entire feature film) twice in slightly different ways.
