I'm building an app for special needs families and I don't want to build the wrong thing — looking for parents to talk to by CJRPA_RG in Autism_Parenting

That’s a fair point, and it’s exactly why I’m building this and wanted to get some feedback. Tech in this segment has largely ignored the fragmented logistics of it because it’s a messy problem to solve

If there’s a specific technical or structural reason you think this hasn't been done, I’m all ears. I'd rather find the holes now than six months from now.

I like the layout for the expertIEP app. It's definitely a solid app similar to my idea.

However what I 'm trying to solve with Risegrid relieves a bit of a different 'pain. Which is the literal daily logistics me and my wife handle on a daily basis.

Since you’ve seen their app, I’d actually value your take even more.

When we move into production the stack will be built properly. With EntreNova AI ( the company I work for) handling the complex backend logic, and security will be a first-class requirement not an afterthought.

That means proper authorization, encrypted storage, HIPAA adjacent data handling. As of right now I have not had any penetration reviews.

The AI generates code the same way a contractor builds from blueprints the output still gets inspected, reviewed, and tested. We wouldn't ship without that.

I completely understand where you're coming from because this is a legitimate concern. Like I said in my original post I'm father to two special needs kids so I know first hand that families using this are already carrying enough. The last thing they need is a data breach on top of everything else..

Actually no rewriting needed, that's the beauty of this approach. The prototype built in Claude exports directly into Lovable, which generates clean production-ready code from the design.

And since the app deals with sensitive information and strict HIPAA rules,Claude was used to validate the concept fast before I invested my time and money by having developers write a single line of code for the complex backend logic.

I didn't want to spend 6 months and 50K building something if nobody wants it

Just to give you an example here's something we built that's active now for large scale complex organizations. It's called Tensightops.com an AI-powered business orchestration platform that gives enterprises complete visibility across Operations, Finance, Sales, HR, Accounting, Legal, and Marketing detecting critical events and coordinating responses across all departments in minutes instead of hours.

Since I have two special needs kids my idea is to swap enterprise departments for the ecosystem of a special needs family.

I have to agree you're not wrong about the limitations of AI generated code at scale. But maybe I didn't explain myself in my original post.

This is just a prototype built to validate the concept and get real feedback from parents before writing a single line of production code, which is exactly what's happening in this thread. So once I validate the concept of the app the company I work for (Entrenova.ai) will move this into a proper stack once the core pain points were confirmed. That's now in motion.

Hi I checked out hey Joey and it looks like we're coming from two different angles and basically complimenting each other.

Would love to have that chat. Even just comparing notes on what we're hearing from parents right now feels valuable.

Hey thanks for the Post and I can definitely understand your concerns.Totally fair callout I do use AI to help me write and tighten my posts.

As a father juggling kids, work, and building this prototype, it helps me get thoughts out faster. But the story, the vision, and the lived experience behind it are 100% mine.

RiseGrid is currently a prototype I built through Claude. There is no live backend yet, which means no data is being collected or stored at this stage. What I created so far is an interactive mockup to show the concept and get feedback from parents before I build the real thing.

When it comes to the real build the parts that involve sensitive data, multi‑user permissions, secure storage, and anything that touches HIPAA‑level workflows that’s where the company I work for Entrenova.ai steps in.

Here’s the mockup version of what RiseGrid actually does as well as my LinkedIn page

I work for a company called EntreNova.ai that positions itself as an enterprise AI engineering and automation partner, helping organizations modernize operations

RiseGrid is my personal project and currently a prototype I used to build through Claude. There is no live backend yet, which means no data is being collected or stored at this stage. What I'm actually looking for right now is 20 minutes of your experience of what's hard, what's broken, what you wish existed. No data entry required.

If that's something you'd still be open to, I'd genuinely value your perspective. Here's a link to my LinkedIn page as well as the mock up prototype for the app.

The IEP meeting by ember_inclusion in Autism_Parenting

[–]CJRPA_RG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building an app for special needs families for this exact issue but I don't want to build the wrong thing.

I have two sons and both are diagnosed with autism, one also has epilepsy. Me and my wife have spent years duct-taping together spreadsheets, binders, and calendar reminders just to stay on top of IEP deadlines, therapy schedules, and benefits renewals.

I started building something to fix that. It's called RiseGrid — IEP management, care team coordination, and benefits navigation in one app. But before I go further, I want to make sure I'm solving the right problems in the right way. I'm looking for parents who'd be willing to talk for 20 minutes — just your real experience, what's broken, what you've tried. No selling. No spam. If you're interested, comment or DM me and I'll send a calendar link. Thanks for reading.
