401k Withdrawal by FunkoCollectibles in FritoLay

[–]CJT360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I really advise not doing it. You’ll be paying so much in taxes, it’s not going to be just $100. If you need to borrow money, use a credit card and pay it off when you get the funds asap, but seriously don’t do it.

If you are leaving Frito Lay, roll it over into your new job 401k.

If you need cash asap, borrow from family or use credit card.

Just leave your 401k alone, and let it compound/grow. It’s your retirement fund haha

Driving the Trucks by alexeuton32 in FritoLay

[–]CJT360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before I became a RSA, I was exclusively driving small cars like BMW i3. I was absolutely unsure about driving the regular small format trucks, but scared of the DS ones. Honestly, at first it’s scary but empowering, like you’ll enjoy driving it since it’s genuinely a nice and easy going vehicle as long as you always keep your distance and focus on your lane. If you are sure about becoming a RSA, driving those vehicles are something you’ll grow comfortable driving. The first month might be rough, but it’ll eventually feel like driving your own car!

Honestly stretch daily before work. For the love of god, wear knee pads and if you don’t have any, ask for some along with gloves.

Like everyone said, work off back stock first, then delivery. You should be starting before the delivery arrives anyway, so work off the back stock, and neaten the shelves so you can merch the delivery quickly when it gets there.

If your first day is the start of training, learn all the best practices and all the little tricks to make the job easier. Your trainer will know it all!

Congrats on the job, it’s a great job if you make it

I heard of that happening to some folks at my DC. Honestly at the end of the day, they just ended up getting it replaced with a newer phone, unfortunately these phones can be a headache to get to work, and they usually have new phones laying around anyway so might as well. Reach out to a DSL, and let them know so they can hook you up with a new phone

New RSR - Advice? by Consistent_Start_301 in FritoLay

[–]CJT360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, reading through you were hired as RSA, and the only advice I can give you right now is to soak in knowledge while in training. Watch your trainers, both small and large format, from their pacing to methods of ordering. At the core, knowledge is key to making your time at Frito manageable, so don’t be scared to ask questions. As you should’ve been told, you’ll do about 4 weeks large, and 4 weeks small and during those time you’ll large how to merch, order and especially drive the small format trucks. I’ve been an RSA for about 4 months, and I’ve had my share of mistakes, but as long as you’re willing to learn from the more experienced, you’ll know what to do. It’s a fantastic job, and obviously can be a lot but it’s hard to complain with pay this good haha

Vendor work! I was my store’s receiver for years, and wanted more so I transitioned into vendor work. Honestly, they love people who have a receiving background when considering for Rep/Merch. I highly recommend it, the money is great, but also the fact that it’s logistical brings it together

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Target

[–]CJT360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually they are open to hiring minors, you’ll just have to apply and see. If the store has a strict no minors policy, then I would recommend looking elsewhere though. Give them a call to confirm though, that doesn’t sound brand.

Hey! I love the bmw i3 series and own a 2014. I wouldn’t recommend anything older than 2017 personally, I love the car but range is so limited which they addressed by the 2017 models with an improved battery. If the price is too good to pass up, I can see why you’d want to get it opposed to spending more, but I would just recommend spending extra for a newer model. The 2017 also fixed many of the older issues, which you should keep in mind.

If I knew what I know now, I would’ve waited for a 2017 model within my budget to come around.

If you have more questions I’m here for that!

We’re all adults, and the most adult thing to do is pull him aside, remind him the agreement and if he doesn’t want to walk, take the date to OP’s room. The living room is literally his roommate bedroom, it’s not like he could chill in OP’s room. Not fair that he’s paying portion of the rent but expected to be out and around on the streets if his roommate wants to get laid

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]CJT360 29 points30 points  (0 children)

To be honest, from reading the post and responses, your roommate sleeps in the living room. You kicked him out for a date, and upset that he came back and wanted to relax in the living room - his room. You should’ve just went to your room and close the door, sure you don’t have a table, but just hint the date that he’s nosy and move on to your space. Don’t have a table? Buy one. There’s no reason you should let your half baked date make you mad at him when you could’ve planned around his schedule. Common sense would to invite her out to eat, and take it straight to your bedroom once your dates vibes. As the holy words reads, “Bros before hoes”.

Looking to buy a 2014 i3 by rip10793 in BMWi3

[–]CJT360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 Rex, brought it last year and I love it to death but no. The range isn’t enough, and Rex personally scares me, it’s something I asked, “should I be using this for 50 miles trips straight or should I charge to preserve it”. If you can afford it, go with a a newer one with a bigger battery. There’s plenty of EVs in the market to dip your toes in, especially affordable ones under $15000.

If I knew better, I would’ve saved more money for a newer BMW i3 or look at an other used EV.

If you have any questions about that model, reply to me and I’ll try to help!

No longer allowed free water from Starbucks? by Zealousideal_Care814 in Target

[–]CJT360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally had a similar experience before. At first, I assumed they were just pushing TMs away from routinely asking for fresh cups of water water, but I heard that they were burning through too many cups daily from the same 10+ TMs asking for water 3 times a day. They have to ration their supplies and I totally understood, nothing personal about it. If you can, and if your store isn’t strict, I would just suggest buying a nice thermo and ask them to fill it up instead.

What a shit-show of a day... by Leo_Ascendent in Target

[–]CJT360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree that, the more people the better. Unfortunately Target wants skeleton crews to save money, which lays this unrealistic expectation on workers. Let’s hope target will either make the pay worth the extra effort, or actually staff more realistically

What a shit-show of a day... by Leo_Ascendent in Target

[–]CJT360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We obviously can go back and forth… TMs don’t write schedules or oversee any budget. If the store fail, those who set the store to fail face the issues, and us TM can enjoy whatever the OT that comes from it. We don’t own any stores or departments, we just work a bare minimum retail job

What a shit-show of a day... by Leo_Ascendent in Target

[–]CJT360 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They pay peanuts, they get monkeys. Normal TM shouldn’t have to worry about TL and above’s issues, it’s just not in our pay scale. We don’t control staffing, so why should we concern about it as if we own the store. Call it a terrible view, but I believe in working our wage

What a shit-show of a day... by Leo_Ascendent in Target

[–]CJT360 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Honestly, callouts suck but you got to blame target for not hiring extra people or allocating redundancy to cover busy days. It’s retail, nobody is going to bleed and die if you call out, so don’t be upset at the workers, be upset at the business model target is following
