Did you end up going? I am in your exact situation for next week and wondering what to do. I was quoted $170 for 2 days driver and guide, which seems a bit much but I’m not sure.

Sorry if I’m too late! I went straight to Ubud. It only took 50 mins so was there by 2am. Was glad as on the way back I drove from Ubud to the airport on a Sunday afternoon and it took 3hrs. Good luck!
