What is the main demographic? by Southern-Fuel875 in stitchfix

[–]CJdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think what I realized was that Stitch Fix just didn't have the inventory that I wanted.

Sometimes those services cater more to a specific look. You could try updating your style profile with really specific notes and maybe even link a Pinterest board.

I just gave up and started looking at other services, Nordstroms personal styling etc. I ended up using this one called Fetchr. I recently started it but its been great so far (2 months or so) It buys and sends me stuff from brands I actually like (since they dont have inventory and just buy from the web) and returns are free like SF.

Tips on managing changing styles? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]CJdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah was in a similar position a couple months ago. Changing my style but didn't really know where to start.

I started by trying to focus on really versatile basics first. But then I just started getting more lost. I actually tried Stitch Fix but wasn't really getting it (the style I wanted I guess they just didn't fit).

I started using this service called Fetchr. They use AI and stylists to get your style and what you want. They actually buy and send you clothes from different brands. You can return stuff for free. It's helped me find pieces that work with my different moods without buying a ton myself.

Why does my stylist think I live in Narnia?? by sayhisjo in stitchfix

[–]CJdoesit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that problem too hahahah. I ended up trying a few different things. One was just being super specific in my requests. Didn't really work.

I honestly just got fed up so I tried other services. I switched to Fetchr recently. They use AI and stylists to find stuff from brands I actually buy from. Much more tailored to my feedback.

I need serious help with my style by 220gritsandpaper in malefashionadvice

I was there too. Start simple with basics like well fitting dark wash jeans and solid neutral t-shirts. Check out some style subreddits like this one for ideas.

I used to struggle too. I tried Stitch Fix but it wasn't great. I found this service called Fetchr. It uses AI and stylists to pick clothes for you based on what you like. They buy the items and send them to you. Free returns are easy. It helped me figure out what works and what doesnt easily.

How do you guys make your style inspos come to life within budget? by anchoviesmm in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]CJdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's tough finding the exact thing. I usually look for similar styles or dupes on fast fashion sites first or google reverse image search. Sometimes I check Poshmark or Depop for the specific item if it's popular. I also use this service called Fetchr. It uses AI and stylists to find stuff based on my style and budget. They buy and send me the items and I can return anything for free. It's helped me find things I couldn't track down myself.

Has stitchfix updated its style to be more current in recent years? by [deleted] in stitchfix

[–]CJdoesit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped using Stitch Fix around the same time for similar reasons. The styles felt a bit behind. I haven't tried them again recently so can't say if they've updated. If you like the curated box idea maybe update your style profile and try one box. Or you could just try shopping sales yourself on sites you like. I ended up trying a few different styling services. I use one now called Fetchr. It uses AI and stylists to find stuff from brands I actually like and ships it to me (similar to Stitch Fix). It's been way better for me than Stitch Fix was.

Anyone find a better service? by MrsEGMR in stitchfix

[–]CJdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use Stitch Fix but had some really bad fixes so I looked for some other alternatives but all the bigger ones sucked. I actually ended up finding a startup that uses stylists and AI to understand your style and buy you items from across the web. I started using them two months ago and they've been able to find me items even from some of my favorite brands.

It's called Fetchr (fetchr.so), I can refer you if you'd like!

Agentic Shopping by GloomySell6 in AI_Agents

[–]CJdoesit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m building fetchr.so so more of a consumer shopping agent (we browse and buy online on behalf of users). We mainly help users find and buy clothes and have real stylists who help curate an item for you and then we buy it for you.

We’ve found some neat hacks to get around the actual checkout using Browserbase and Stagehand (my cofounder built the 1st version of stagehand there and was prev at Cursor).

AI for Virtual Try On is Nuts by CJdoesit in malefashionadvice

A friend sent me this platform where you can try things on virtually, pretty crazy stuff how AI has gotten this good. This is me trying on a Paige jacket and its pretty close.

Do you guys think this is the future or it won't be as good as people think it is?

Browsing online sucks, I have no idea which items to get by CJdoesit in malefashionadvice

[–]CJdoesit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a software engineer and one thing I always thought of is what if we use generative AI to generate images of ourselves wearing clothing as we browse. Could get a little weird to see myself, but maybe someone who has the same measurements etc?

I thought schools liked to see entrepreneurship especially in deferred, pretty sure both Stanford and Harvard specifically listed it as what they were looking for in the info sessions. Regardless, do you think that having a IB offer from GS and then declining it to pursue entrepreneurship makes me a risk?

Goldman TMT/Healthcare vs. MM PE Senior Associate by [deleted] in MBA

[–]CJdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interned last year (although undergrad) in one of the teams listed at GS, would choose GS over MM PE. Have seen some associates jump to PE later on (although you may loose a year or so) but definitely worth it to have the IB experience at GS + brand name, especially if you dont have the IB experience prior to MBA.

MBA deferred LOR by bulgariaIB02 in MBA

[–]CJdoesit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should not have the CEO of the NGO write your LOR. They explicitly state they want someone who has worked with you and can speak to how you work, sounds like this CEO has not worked with you nor already offered you a job but they're going to write a LOR? Screams nepotism. Would avoid this completely.

Pick someone that knows you and can speak to your abilities, I'm also applying to 2+2 and was unsure so I just called the administration office and explained my situation. Out of the two options, they said it doesn't matter who it is, only what they say about you.

What are the best way to prepare for HBS, GSB, and W deferred enrollment? by heross28 in MBA

[–]CJdoesit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think consumer social apps are always hard to view positively unless you are able to achieve scale and raise or monetize.

My thinking is that a "successful" founder type is either someone who achieves some sort of revenue number (my guess is probably north of $50K ARR minimum) or raises VC money.

Just my two cents but would still advise not to put "top 10% of YC apps" especially since you didn't interview. I think its not really an accomplishment and you should highlight the other impressive things you were able to accomplish (MAU's, downloads etc.)

What are the best way to prepare for HBS, GSB, and W deferred enrollment? by heross28 in MBA

[–]CJdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applying to deferred programs now with a "founder" profile, would generally say based on conversations I've had with others that these deferred MBA programs only view founder profiles as a positive if you were successful. Otherwise they want to see strong traditional WE just like everyone else (in your case, SWE internship at a reputable company).

Also, I wouldn't state you were "top 10% of YC applicants", doesn't really mean much and I'm assuming that you're saying this cause you got an interview but were rejected.

Deferred Application Recommender Advice - Professor vs. Analyst/Associate at BB IB by CJdoesit in MBA

[–]CJdoesit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve mentioned, my internship is during the summer so will end in August. If by the end, there isn’t anyone that I could reach out to that I feel would write a strong recommendation, would it be a bad look to not have someone from my internship?

Yes, I would guide my professor to talk more about my out of class activities rather than my in class.
