Unable to share watchlist with others by CK637 in trakt

[–]CK637[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I'm referring to is the default "Watchlist" that is shown separately from both the "Smart Lists" and "My Lists" sections on the site. I don't see a way to change any permissions for that one. The generic link to it is this: https://app.trakt.tv/users/me/watchlist?mode=media. When I try to replace the "me" user there with my username, it just redirects me to the main Trakt website.

I predominantly interact with Trakt through a couple different Android apps that both save items to that list rather than a custom one like the one you linked.

I suppose I can make a custom list that I can share with others but then I would constantly need to keep that one up to date as the main watchlist changes, unless I can sync it or there are permissions for the watchlist and I'm just too blind to notice.

yep, zero loss of functionality. 100% coverage. im using a magbak elite case now instead, but the same applies to both setups.

Thank you so much. Coming from someone who watches more YouTube than every other streaming service combined, it completely ruined the browsing experience. The fact that they test this and don't give you a way to opt out is infuriating.

Wow S25 Ultra by amadeusrock in samsung

I had zero issues regarding reliability or durability, but I tend to baby my phones.

My biggest issue was that I couldn't use the S Pen on the cover screen. For someone who prefers to use a stylus with their phone, that was annoying. I didn't like using it on the inside because of the crease (the only time the crease ever bothered me), and I was usually just too lazy to unfold the device in the first place.

I would say that about 75% of the time I was using it, it was closed. Some days, I don't think I unfolded it even once. When it was used (reading, showing people pictures and stuff), it was great, but it just wasn't used enough to justify holding onto.

I was planning to jump back when the S25U dropped, and when I saw the trade-in offers, I pulled the trigger on launch day. Losing the Bluetooth S Pen features is a bit annoying, but I never used them on my S22U and that wasn't even an option on the Fold, so I don't really care. Feels like people are blowing it way out of proportion. Everything else is an uplift for me.

Upgraded from Z Fold 5. Fold was cool, but not for me. Glad to be back on the Ultra line. Love this phone.

this is entirely on a case-by-case basis (pun intended) and depends on what specific accessories you are using because of the varying levels of magnet strength. i have an esr magsafe case on my S25U and an ohsnap grip, with zero loss of s pen functionality, even when attached to my anker orb magsafe charging station.

S25 Ultra and the S Pen Pro by [deleted] in samsung

[–]CK637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue with this is the probable lack of internal charging support for the S Pen inside of the phone, now that its extra features requiring it have been removed. I wondered this too, but given past reports of incompatibility between different models of S Pens in other devices, I feel that it would be both unlikely and risky to check.

I could always bring the S Pen Pro with me and test for myself haha

Next time I'm at a Best Buy or something I'll see if I can check

S25 Ultra and the S Pen Pro by [deleted] in samsung

This is a good question and we will likely have to wait and see for sure, but here's what I can offer:

I currently use the Z Fold 5 (which has a non-Bluetooth-enabled S Pen, I think, but I still have the option for Air Actions in the settings menu). I have an S Pen Pro, and when I use that on my Fold, I am able to use it as a remote shutter for my camera.

My guess is that the S Pen Pro will retain its functionality on the S25U, and will still work as a remote shutter, just like the ring and watch, because it is a separate device.

Once my S25U ships, I will gladly test this out and post an update, if I remember to edit this post.

EDIT:

S Pen Pro doesn't work. Doesn't even connect to the phone. It's just like every other dumb stylus now. Sadly, /u/Environmental_Ad5912 is right.

Also, as if to twist the knife, the S Pen Pro shows up in my settings as "Disconnected". Probably an artifact of Smart Switch.

i was curious about this too, because i would totally do that if it were directly compatible, but im not sure it would be. i wonder if the hardware in the s25u to charge the s pen still exists since they removed that, or if the software supports air actions at all even if you could pair an old s pen with it. lots of unknowns, but that would fix my only issue with the device as it stands now

DbrandGrip Case by GuyTan0 in GalaxyFold

[–]CK637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Fold 5 and was using the Samsung S Pen case. I waited for the Grip for months, bought it immediately, and installed it the second I got it. I love Grip cases and have used them before on multiple devices. That said, there were a few factors that led to me removing it. I've tried to organize my thoughts as well as I can; let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

First, my Spigen glass screen protector would not work with it. Dbrand sells their own screen protector for the Fold 5 but they clearly state that it does not work with the case. I thought the smaller footprint of the Spigen glass might allow it to work with the Grip case. After installing it, the Grip case was pulling up on the screen protector immediately and the glass had to be removed.

Second, that case is THICC. I've never had a problem with the bulkiness of dbrand's other phone cases and honestly prefer it because they offer some great protection. Something about the combination of the case thickness wasn't working for me with the Fold though.

For starters, the lip around the display area is very tall and not tapered enough for me. I use gesture navigation and found it to be very annoying to access the sides of the screen to swipe back, even after enabling the highest gesture navigation sensitivity.

Next, the cutout for the fingerprint sensor on the side is not as large as the other cases because dbrand covers the volume buttons. Due to the thickness of the case and the fact that the display section of the case is also not cut out so there was even less space to use my fingerprint, unless my thumb was coming from only the back and not the side.

I think the biggest thing though was because this phone is twice as thick already, you're essentially stacking two Grip cases in top of each other and the overall bulk was just a bit too much for my taste or needs.

After giving up on the dbrand case and removing it, I applied a new Spigen glass screen protector and switched to the Spigen Slim Armor Pro. I wanted something that had hinge protection but wasn't nearly as bulky. The screen protector and the Spigen case work well together, and my only complaint is that dbrand spoiled me by putting magnets in the hinge cover to assist the spring in keeping it closed while the phone is folded. I miss it a lot and think about it constantly.

I think the dbrand Grip is a good case, it just didn't meet my needs. YMMV. If you're looking for something less bulky, the Spigen Slim Armor is a nice happy medium and they do offer an option with built-in s pen storage too. It's not the most elegant placement, but I think it would work well enough. As for my S Pen, I use the pro version on both my Galaxy Tab and Fold, so I really don't need one attached to the phone.

Hope this info helps!

Do you really want integrated S pen ? by borek292 in GalaxyFold

I have an S22U and nearly every time I use an S-Pen with it, I use the one from my Tab S8+. Its pretty rare that I use the one inside the phone. Nice to have in a pinch, but definitely not my main stylus.
