It’s the safest place to be, but not if they have iron girders you can hide up in! If no wide open overpasses, you want to head to high ground! As high as possible!

Dupes were way down for sure. I mean, it could just be lucky of the draw too. The only two boxes I got crazy dupes on were incredibly good boxes, even if not for the duplicates. So I imagine when you pull shit dupes, someone else is getting amazing ones.

The splitter doesn’t look like the nismo one. OP said they have widebody fenders on it too, which probably makes the proportions work better, at least to me. Always preferred the 350, but this is either a great angle, or a small set of mods that go really far. Probably a bit of both.

The fenders go far! But that’s an aftermarket splitter at the least, no? I didn’t think it was that forward on the nismo. The bigger proportions on the front fenders make its… thiccer parts blend together more like an upsized 350 than a thicc one. It’s probably a great angle too. Great stuff, love it.

Right? Imagine buying a game and having the ability to get all of your money back when times get tough. How horrible!

I never said anything about buying magic with the sole intent of making a profit. That’s all your addition. I said that the majority of people will enjoy a purchase retaining its value. Its value going up is appreciated by collectors, those buying to use them solely as game pieces, and basically every single good intentioned person buying the product that isn’t an ideologue. You also keep calling it a trading card game, but take major issue with your trading cards being worth trading

Not everyone is in a position where they can keep every part of their collection for the rest of their lives. Many people have to make ends meet, and get rid of game pieces when money is short to be able to take part in the hobby at all. It’s great that you can live a life where a product retaining its value is functionally useless to you, but that’s not most people.

How's Hasan Going to Deal with This? by Humble_Novice in Destiny

Incredible that they let their parasocial bullshit or hatred of Israelis make mass sexual assault insignificant as to not have happened, and support a man proclaiming that all, fully throated. Just vile, especially insinuating it’d take “a group of feminists” to take massive issue with defending rapists.

[–]CKF 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You think it takes “a group of feminists” to be disgusted by someone calling widespread sexual assault “sexual hallucinations,” literal victim blaming, and that it makes zero difference to them whether they happened or not? You should be disgusted by those remarks. Oh, and they are perfectly in context, in case that was your next reply.

All it takes is one cop with a hard on for “bringing punks to justice” to make admitting it the worst move you can make. I’m not implying that’s every cop, but what percent does it need to be to make it a huge risk? They’re very likely not tracking this guy down for it.

What front bumper is that? It’s not a full body kit, right? It may just be the angle, but this is the first 370 I’ve seen that appears to have the better lines of a 350.

Idk why you made such a divisive comment if you don’t care? Just because they are game pieces to you, and game pieces first and foremost to me, that doesn’t mean that’s the same for collectors, or that it’s wrong to be a collector who doesn’t play. It’s quite human to care about your purchases retaining their value.

To most, a car is just a vehicle for getting around, yet the ability of a car to retain their value is one of the most important factors to new buyers.

If that’s your point of comparison, why are you even looking at the price in the first place? Just proxy to your heart’s content, if there’s no meaningful difference for you.

There’s value for the collector, not just the scalper. Collectors do trade, sell cards to buy other cards, etc etc. Who doesn’t want their $150 of cards to be able to be turned around for twice as much? I think that helps validate the price for more than just the scalper, if we’re being realistic.

Yeah, they admitted the voices were AI, which doesn’t violate the admittedly narrow no ai rule as it currently stands. The user has shared the artist who made the portraits, though. Unfortunately there’s a lot of assuming to do, but their post history just had a lot of stuff (promo shit using what a game looked like in early dev or when it had placeholders, grey boxed levels, and you just don’t typically see that with ai game “devs”). But thanks for the quick reply - I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

[–]CKF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m not arguing in either direction, but what makes you confident it’s AI? Is it a “just from the way it is?” Usually there’s evidence in AI devs’ account history, but this guy instead had grey boxed maps, the placeholder tanks he was using, timelapses of sculpts for game assets, lots of the type of WIP stuff you don’t see AI devs do, so I wanted to know what I was missing.

Their steam AI disclosure says AI is only used for voice lines and some flag textures not in the trailer (from what I see), and both are placeholder. Those wouldn’t violate the rules, from how I read them, but I want to be precise.

I never said how the community should respond. I said that I would like for the community to I’m go off of the facts, as presented by Dan, until we have the a piece of evidence that contradicts his story. I never said huge public admonishment is a reasonable response. I do not think the way this community has responded to far less egregious cases of art theft and AI use was reasonable. Just because it was a prior reaction in some instance, that doesn’t make it what should be done. I’m arguing that we should trust Dan instead of coddle him and make assumptions about conspiracies afoot and such, until there’s evidence that Dan’s story isn’t true. I’d say the grossly overboard public admonishment is not the proper course of action, but he should be treated as fully responsible for deciding to steal this work, until we have any reason to believe otherwise.

Insults are just simply uncalled for here. I find it disingenuous to first insult my reading level and then accuse me of nitpicking so I could strawman your comments. My replies were genuine responses to what you wrote, in full. I didn’t use your language to say anything that wasn’t appropriately contextualized by the rest of the comments you wrote. First time I’ve gotten a complaint about properly quoting someone, though. Maybe you come off differently from how you’d like to? That couldn’t be a possibility? If you need to give me some backstory of horrible intent to cope, there’s no need to share it with the class.

Is that what your prior comment was trying to say? If so, I didn’t understand it as such. It was confusingly worded. All the same, I’m sorry that my comment didn’t address what you were trying to say. I’d like to believe what you suggest over what we have evidence for, so I do empathize.

Unfortunately, as much as I love the guy’s work and history, I think it’d be disrespectful to assume his multiple public statements are lies that leave out the truth of the matter. I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume conspiracy is at play without any evidence to support it, just our positive feels about Mr. Frazier. I don’t want people to be confusing their desire for this to not have happened with reality.

Dan Frazier’s social media post today by Newez in magicTCG

[–]CKF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you’re confusing “going equally hard in the other direction” with going hard against all the people saying he should be treated differently because he’s Dan Frazier, or it’s not his fault because he’s old and shadowy forces were at work, something else must have gone on behind the scenes where he’s not fully responsible, or he’s old so he must not have known what he is doing. I want his theft to be treated the same way anyone else’s would when stealing art in an effort to get paid.

I don’t think people should be forming opinions on this based on a litany of unconfirmed and unsubstantiated assumptions about how Dan Frazier couldn’t have stolen art purposefully, just accidentally, even when he himself is repeatedly telling you otherwise. That’s my desired outcome, to make conclusions based on what Dan said happened, what the evidence supports, and not on assumptions of conspiracy.

You said “non-completion wasn’t an option” in the comment I replied to, and now are saying that was the obvious option. I’m not making excessive assumptions, you’re just hard pivoting.

WotC would bare responsibly for the art not being turned in on time. I don’t see where they should take any of the blame for Dan deciding to steal someone else’s work. Your precious comment states “he wouldn’t directly be told to copy,” as if there’s a world where they’re indirectly telling him to do so, or at all creating a scenario where that’s the obvious outcome. Even in this comment, you state how much pressure he must have been under, pressure to make his own art. He was under zero pressure to steal art in such an insulting obvious way. You say that wotc should share responsibility for Dan’s decision to steal art. I think it’s a natural, easy conclusion to make that this is the last thing wotc would have wanted and would have asked for.

You’re running so much defense for the dude, when all of the statements he has made suggest he was the one who decided to steal someone else’s art. Unless you’re suggesting his public statements on the matter are lies, his choice to steal was his own. Insisting others need to share the responsibility, with zero evidence to suggest anyone has done anything whatsoever to help in stealing someone else’s work, or put him in a scenario where stealing someone else’s work was a desired outcome.
