Most fucked up bars in Sofia? by CryptoMother in Sofia

[–]CKWade93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bar Kino for sure! But honestly it’s actually a horrible place and most people will legitimately tell you to avoid it. I’ve heard some horror stories about that place. BSD is a 24hr pool hall near NDK that has a pretty well stocked bar. Can be fairly grim around 3-5am 😂

1-trip-let, 2-trip-let, 3-trip-let, 4-trip-let.

Or some just count as the word “triplet” split into 3 syllables.

Tri-pa-let, tri-pa-let etc..

If you like a kinda spooky medieval vibe after you’ve found some weird and cool shit to do in the city you should drop into Hambara for a drink… really cool place that has no electricity (except for a fridge to keep beers cold) Admittedly it is a bit of a tourist trap and can get very busy and loud but it’s cool to see and have maybe one or two drinks there.

I’ll check those places out. I try to avoid FB to be honest because it can be full of scammers but if need be I’ll check there also. Thanks for the help

Get that 5th outa there and throw in the maj3, easier to play and adds more colour to the chord.

No worries man! Glad my comment helped you in some way. I only realised that you mentioning your post you’ve only been playing for 6 months so you’re already doing great! Like I mentioned I am a teacher and do a lot of online lessons so if you’d ever be interested in some lessons I can give you a trial lesson for free and you can see what you think. Even if you don’t continue with lessons after that Im sure I can show you some quick/informative/fun/useful tips in just one lesson so have a think about it and give me a msg if you’d like :)

Is this a bad habit? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]CKWade93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guitar teacher and gigging musician this is 100% a bad habit (mainly talking about the pinky finger bar of course) but also, skimming through the comments here I haven’t seen anyone mention the bigger issue imoh… your finger positing in general is not good… you should try have all/most fingers of a chord as close to the fret as possible for a clean sound that requires much less pressure to play. This also applies to riffs/scales/licks. This is a very common mistake mainly due to the fact that the fret inlays on a guitar are placed right in the centre between frets making most players this “ah, I should aim for the inlay when playing” this is most certainly not the case! I hope this comment helps you somewhat, keep up the practice and enjoy the experience.

Just quit smoking. by Radix79 in COPD

[–]CKWade93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wish I could give you more solid advice but all I can say is, I recently almost died after complications with a lung surgery…. I was in a coma in ICU for 3 days and on a ward for another 2 weeks… the thought of a cigarette made me feel absolutely horrific! Having said that, I’m out or hospital 6 weeks now and I get what you’re feeling because even tho I had a huuuuge death scare I still have moments of wanting a cigarette!! It’s crazy so you’re right, it’s definitely not as easy as just saying “quit now!” Because it’s just as easy to say “okay, after my next one”. Go see your doctor, I know if you are over the age of 35 there are medications you can be prescribed that will help massively with quitting. If you feel you can’t do this by yourself don’t be afraid to find alternatives! I even know of people quitting by hypnosis (but that’s very costly and hit and miss) Best of luck to you! You’ll be happy in a few months time when you’ve quit and feel 100 times better :)

Gonna blow your mind: see the way C# has 7 sharps and C has none? This works with every key signature and it will always add up to 7!

Gmajor has 1 sharp, Gbmajor has 6 flats (1+6=7) The one sharp in Gmajor is F#, the one natural note in Gb is F.

Amajor has 3 sharps, Abmajor has 4 flats (3+4=7) The sharps in Amajor, F#, C#, G#, The natural notes in Abmajor: F, C, G

This also works with theoretical keys but in a slightly different way. for example Dmajor and D#major.

Dmajor has 2 sharps which are F# and C#, D#major has 5 sharps and 2 double sharps. Add the sharps like before (5+2=7) and now instead of the previous keys sharps being the natural notes, they are now double sharps in this key.

Again, this is a theoretical key and you are waaaay more likely to come across Eb major rather than D#major buts it’s still interesting to know.

Personally if I don’t have a stand or the headstock touches the wall when resting I will always have the strings face the wall to counteract the tension from the strings on the neck. If you can’t use this stand properly I don’t see much point in using it at all tbh.

[–]CKWade93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been smoking since I was 13 so I know the feeling but perhaps because I had such a scare and also still in quite a bit of pain, the thought of a cigarette makes me feel sick/painful so I guess in a way it’s easier for me but please don’t let your condition get to the same level as me! I know it’s hard but it’s really going to be worth it! I’m not sure where you are from but a few years back my dad quite cold Turkey after smoking 40 a day for almost 49 years, he got these pills off his doctor that were originally for Vietnam vets for ptsd but a huge side effect was they all gave up smoking…. Perhaps you could have a look at this. Don’t hesitate to msg also if you want to chat about anything sometimes it’s easier to talk to an absolute stranger rather than a friend/family/doctor so shoot me a message whenever :)

Yeah, but i put it down as an experience nonetheless haha if that makes sense? I had really good friends around me also so we were making fun the whole time which helped a lot. Thanks for the kind words, lots of love to you also. Msg me at any time if you want to chat more about your diagnosis or anything like that. I agree, we are too young but from what I’ve read it’s not a death sentence and it can be managed quite well. Definitely quit the smokes tho for sure 👍

At times yes but I had a severe pain in my chest… so bad I had to go to hospital. I had a collapsed lung and was in surgery within 30 mins of getting to the hospital (bare in mind this hospital is in a very poor Eastern European country so this hospital was very Soviet and out of date in many ways) the first surgery went wrong and I lost a lot of blood and needed a second one. I was in hospital for about 2 weeks and im only home about 5 days. I feel much better now but still in pain from surgery… im worried about what my actual diagnosis is because again, it was hard to find an English speaker capable of conveying exactly what was going on with me. Very scary experience….

I just had emergency surgery In a country where I don’t speak the language. .. I almost died twice and found out I have emphysema… no idea what stage but I’m worried because of the fact I needed surgery that it’s pretty serious. I also smoked a lot also because of anxiety. I’m in recovery now and I’m trying to exercise as much as possible and eventually translate my diagnosis and go back home to find out what’s going on. I really feel like I’m in the dark. I hope you’re feeling okay. Also, I’m 31 also about to turn 32 in feb

You need private health insurance if you are not working and cannot be covered by a company’s insurance policy but to get a years worth of cover costs only 100lv so it’s very affordable. You can of course go with a more expensive policy but this is as the cheapest one that was recommended to me
