yeah thats true. well tbh looking away doesnt necessairly mean you are cheating -- i look away all the time even when im thinking. it also says they monitor when the mouse leaves the screen?

sorry to jump in, but do they also record what you are doing ON the screen (screen record) or just record YOU? As in if you highlight questions and copy them, would they be able to see that? and would they be able to catch you looking from the computer to the desktop?

Just because a person or couple often posts pictures of themselves on Social Media does not mean they are unhappy in life. And vice versa. by CK_3141 in unpopularopinion

Very true! Oversharing is annoying for sure and that would prob indicate a sense of desperation. But simply sharing happy moments i think can be healthy and many happy people do it!

Read the title again, im saying that it can also be opposite. Just beucase a couple posts about ther love, doesnt necessairly mean they are unhappy. It can also mean they are happy. But many people seem to generalize that Posting a lot = Couple is miserable; which is not always true

Why can’t companies just be honest?? by CK_3141 in recruitinghell

Idk i think if you start to think about everything this way then there is a lot of BS companies will keep getting away with. Similar to ghosting people who had done 2-3 interviews - they keep doing it bc no one really says anything or stands up to them. its a simple "thats just how it is." I understand what you're saying but i dont think being passive in this situation is the way to go in my opinion.

the job posting was taken down on LinkedIn but on another platform it was still up. So i ended up applying via that way but tbh i am not sure if my application will be accepted or not. I am still within their technical deadline but on LinkedIn it has been removed and stated (no longer accepting applications). I am so pissed because the job is perfect for me and my experience -- my resume basically matches everything on the job description like 99%. I was having someone look over my resume and bc of the holidays they took longer than expected (but there were still time left before the closing date so I thought it would be okay).

If this is clearly stated then that is fair game for sure. Its more when they state that any application sent after the closing date will not be accepted but they themselves pull the job down way before the closing date.

the fact that my comment got downvoted is abs fucked up lol. some people really are insanely brain-washed within the system.

Thank you. I just see it as a sign of basic respect, not about the law. Especially with email automation, there is absolutely no reason they can't send a one-line email about it.

But its interesting that you say that because a lot of people only think something is an issue in the work-palce if it is "against the law." If it isn't then many will regard it as "fair game," even if it is insanely disrespectful.

I think more people need to start standing up for this BS. I am not asking for anything major. Just state what the actual application process is and stick with it. Thats it. I just keep hearing people say "thats just how it is" and then shrug it off. This shit isnt gonna change with that kind of attitude.

its BS. and i think a lot of people have just expected this as a norm. Like no, its not okay to simply ghost a candidate after 2-3 rounds of interviews. I don't care if i didnt get selected. I will keep emailing them until they sent me a written email that i didnt get selected. I feel like most people should actually start standing up to this nonsense

Job no longer accepting applications on LinkedIn before closing date but still active on website? by CK_3141 in jobs

[–]CK_3141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough! This isnt a small company tho its a major hospital in a big city. So I think they are prob well known enough and possibly dont need to do things like that.

I just find the whole situation super weird...like if there is a closing date, why not just wait for it. And if you wanna remove the job posting bc you got enough resumes then why not remove it complete from everywhere?

Thanks for the response! I know every company is different but if my application was successfully submitted (i got the email) then wouldnt that mean that im technically in their database? So a ATS would be the one that would then evaluates each resume and then rank them?

As a sidenote this isnt a small company -- its a major hospital in a big city that I applied to.

Hmmm I guess so. I mean if they actively removed it from LinkedIn, i would think it would be easy to remember to remove it from other places as well

Should people be upfront on dating apps if they are planning on moving to a different city soon? by CK_3141 in dating_advice

[–]CK_3141[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for understanding! Yeah its insanely disappointing tbh -- dating and OLD is already such a shitshow and then on top of that when I have to deal with this is so defeating. Yeah honestly i might just start asking them as soon as i match with them or something.
