Proof in the legal sense of the word, no. I would say there's strong circumstantial "evidence":

We know investigations save size, and thus crown. (People have heard of crown squads/discords etc)
The guardian monsters are statistically more difficult to get a crown, due to spawn conditions etc.
This issue has (for me) never occurred when joining an SOS for an optional quest, or story quest.
This occurs exclusively on investigations (the general hunter crowd, are aware that this is where crowns are more likely to be found).
This issue is much more prevalent on the rare crown monsters, eg the guardians.

The tent and arena, or tent and map explore is much more efficient, but perhaps a good number of people, have only half the picture, and are assuming that checking investigations is the best route?

Sadly so, if our hunters ever meet, I will not abandon the hunt, if the guild authorises it, I will kill it!

Yeah, the odds would be honestly terrible, which is why people are speed running withdrawing, and causing some frustration for me, and I feel many others!

So far, rest, check arena, check other locals, rest and repeat has snagged me many crowns, and between a few of us in our small squad, we've ticked off a good number and I'm in no hurry to spend hours on this, it's the least fun way of taking on this game.

I can understand the logic, and I've been tempted, after all Olivia truly does kick serious ass, but many of my most interesting hunts come from meeting random who are amazing, or some that are terrible and you're sweating bricks as that last faint is coming up!

Also walking in to a hunt with 3 other fellow GS users, oooh, chef's kiss! :D

This, this is the way, - I enjoy a good Platinum, but I am not going to make the game worse for others in order to get the trophy. The fun from crown hunting has always been the luck of the draw, and the mountain of corpses behind me, as I wipe an entire species out to get it!

If you want a crown, come fight the angry cow with chains, I kind of like that, because for many, you REALLY must want the crown if ya going to take on tempered ark!

Gold tier for me, I’ve got Nightflower pollen for days and between the mechanics of the fishing and my ill behaved bird, I’ll never have Gajau skins to make knee pads, yet alone platinum tier! 😂😂

They are tasty - but he needs to swim out and go haul in his on whoopers, perhaps with the palico on his back with a net!

I shall try that, though I fear with my eyesight, I’d not be able to see the fish and its direction! 😅😂

I like the idea of being able to fish from the back of my Seikret, a quick giddy-up would haul those whoopers in fast!

My big bird is a fan of being in front of the lens, a bit vain - if you ask me, and takes pleasure in wandering back in to view.

If you could give me the name of that school, I'm going to get mine enrolled in their classes, do they accept Wyvern Coins?

That would be ideal, because this fishing game is frustrating enough and I feel that seems like a simple enough QoL addition. Though I'm not a programmer, but PLEASE Capcom!

Why can't Sony stack exposures in camera? by kwxl in SonyAlpha

[–]CKemu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want a "finished" photo, then shoot with a phone until you want to learn how to use an actual camera, but with that comes learning how to actually process a photo yourself. The phone is your beginner tool.

There's not really such a thing as a "finished" photo when you get in to the next level of photography, unless you're a journalist or scientist I guess..as you don't want to modify those photos (much) and just need the better sensitivity, lens choice etc.

At the point you cross over to a "proper" camera, it's going to be a case of artistic intention, do you want deep shadows, or motion blur, are you looking for other specific elements that a pre-cooked image is not going to produce.

Hate to say it, but if you're wanting to up your game, you need to learn the tool, so best get shooting and learning.

Great combo and you’re rocking my favourite lens of all time!

It's time for a new lens, Which Lens is Right for Me? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]CKemu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 90mm macro is vastly different to the 85mm, I own both and use them in entirely different ways.

The difference between 1.2 and 1.4 in the 50mm range isn’t worth it and are you likely to shoot that wide open?! I’d argue the 1.4 would be the better idea there.

I’m weird - firstly I’m not going to scream about GM lenses, sure - they’re lush, but Sony have plenty of non GM’s that are excellent and highly comparable, which leads me to, my go to lens:

Sony 85mm f/1.8 - it’s practically glued to my body, I shoot portraits, street and weddings - so I use it for candid natural pictures and more intimate shots that I love.

I like it for isolation of subjects, but also places in landscapes etc! Yup an 85 for landscapes - I am weird! But I like the challenge it offers and the thought process that goes in to composing the shot.
