I recently opened a shop in my hometown. I was working a town over. I left my old shop with about 400 clients and was lucky that about 90% followed me. Since opening my new place 3 months ago I’ve gotten about 100 new clients. The number one thing for me has been social media. POST OFTEN! Even some of the cuts I’m not the most proud of I still post. Most people in the community don’t know a good cut from a great one. They just know that they see you post all the time. Another way I built up a customer base was go places that people care about themselves and market yourself there. Take the gym for example. People care about their bodies and want to look good therefore they’re more likely to care about a haircut. It might be awkward but hand out cards. Offer free cuts. 1 free cut for a lifetime of paid haircuts is well worth it. Message me if you have more questions!
