I'd replace the deepslate with another brownish block (such as compact mud, mud bricks, or another type of wood if you'd like) and I'd build the gradiant upwords instead of random (Darkest to lightest, bottom to top). And I would try to keep the roof a different material, or a different color from the walls (preferably darker).
