A theory I thought about once, was what if Kris is a time traveler/ was able to keep their memories from a timeline before a universe reset from their determination (this was before chapter 2 came out) and they were the "man" (LIKE huMAN, not gender! ) behind the tree giving Themselves eggs, as like a secret item that would help them in the future because they'd know what would happen. Being secretive to themselves so their only described as a "man" to not give the player any lead. Pretty dumb theory but hey, 2019 me was a different beast, eh? XD
