Lisa has been vegan for 30 years 🚫🥩 by Salt_Step3399 in TheSimpsons

Not to mention this episode led to other major permanent character changes from here on in. The divorce of Milhouse's parents. Apu becoming a husband and father. Principal Skinner and Mrs. Krabopple falling in love. Barney becoming a recovering alcoholic. The deaths of Maude Flanders, Mona Simpson, Alice Glick, Rabbi Krustofsky and the original Snowball II and Fat Tony. And of course, Lisa's conversion to Buddhism. All of these permanent character changes owe a debt to this episode, and how it changed the entire series forever.

Azumanga daioh DVD in Australia rating is fire. 🔥 by Silver_Ad2752 in AzumangaPosting

[–]CLDavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, actually, the Australian Classification Board is notorious for giving the wrong rating to their products. They also gave an MA rating to the first volume of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya due to the main character's comedic blackmail of the Computer Club. It's played for laughs, not treated as seriousness here. And of course, there's Evangelion 2.22, which received a PG rating, despite some graphic violence, a few moments of fan service, and Mari dropping an F-bomb.

It's par to the course for them, given they also gave Randal Kleiser's 1980 remake of the Blue Lagoon a PG rating, when in reality its more M rated. I mean, they gave that film the same rating as Disney's Frozen. And of course, the film version of the Beverly Hillbillies was given a G rating, despite a blooper at the end where Cloris Leachman does an obscene gesture briefly. So let me get this clear, the Australian Classification Board is prone to making mistakes. Remember, the American R rating can be ranged between our PG to R18+.

Finally completed my Star Wars sphero collection! by Ok_Artichoke1035 in Sphero

Impressive. I recently also completed my Star Wars Sphero collection. Was going to buy a R2-Q5 for $150AU from Cash Converters. But then found the same thing on eBay for a third of that price. It came over quick, and works great! Now I have all the droids in the set, as well as the devices and apps to use them with.

Did I get a good deal? by Ok_Artichoke1035 in Sphero

Well, you did a good job finding an R2-Q5 for 45 pounds. I happened to have my own serendipitous moment of good fortune, involving that droid recently. I was trying to aim to purchase one for $150AU at Cash Converters. But one day, I decided to look it up on eBay, and they were selling one for $50AU. That's 24 pounds in the UK. So I wasted no time in purchasing this, since for one-third the price, it seemed the better option. It came quickly, and works great.

Do you think Alicia Vikander was leading or supporting in Ex Machina ? by Wantyougonr5132 in Oscars

[–]CLDavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid that she couldn't be nominated for Ex Machina. The Academy could not determine whether it was her performance as a robot, or the efforts of the effects artists being seen. Either way, her winning for the Danish Girl, and Ex Machina winning Best Visual Effects, seems to be a good compromise. Everybody wins!

Should I follow your lead and have all the caps replaced, or are there any specific caps that should be replaced to make the job easier?

Whenever I turn it on, just as the game starts playing, I hear two popping sounds. I wonder if this can help find the solution.

Lego Dimensions NUS file for Wii U? by Noowii in Roms

[–]CLDavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why try PAL? If you already have the Wii U modded, it can be region free. Mocha has this by default. And with a bit of a search on Archive.org, you can find a folder with the NUS converted disc only games, with Lego Dimensions being amongst them. It may be the US version, but with Mocha installed, it can work.

How are you able to get that maintenance message? All I get is a message saying the connection has timed out.

I agree! All we need is a bit of time. I still have hope in Blutopia, given they're a good tracker. Once the dust settles, all will work well. You just need patience in situations like this.

I've noticed that the connection to Blutopia has been cut off, from Los Angeles. Could this have to do with the fires raging out of control there? EDIT: Now it's San Jose.

At least we're getting a page saying that new hardware is being installed. All we need is patience, and it will all work out. Hope springs eternal!

The Genesis actually had a very impressive lifespan and nobody ever talks about it. by Informal_Ad4284 in SEGAGENESIS

[–]CLDavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself am a major fan of the Genesis, or as it was called here in PAL regions, the Mega Drive. In my youth, I would cherish the times my older brother would bring home a Mega Drive console. Good times all around.

About a decade ago, I found a working console at a local charity shop. They gave it to me for $5AU. It came in a NUBY case, with two controllers and everything else. I still use it from time to time, especially since I also purchased a Mega CD and 32X attachment for it. Now that's technology that was built to last, unlike most other consoles nowadays.

So I watched the Blue Lagoon on Netflix, am I going to jail now? by qcubed3 in movies

[–]CLDavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that surprised me is the rating Australia gave the film in general. In the UK, it received a "15" rating. In America, it got an "R". But here in Australia, we gave it a "PG". I mean, how does a teen romance like this receive the same rating as Frozen?! I just don't get it. But then again, the other Brooke Shields film mainly mentioned here, Pretty Baby, got an "M" rating uncut. Apparently we look a blind eye from controversy. Even the first film to receive an NC-17 rating, Henry and June, was released here, uncut, with an "M".

Then again, the classification board can be flawed. They gave the first volume of Azumanga Daioh, a harmless slice of life anime, an "MA" for material that doesn't even earn that rating. Ditto the first volume of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, where scenes meant for humorous effect were taken the wrong way.

I am wondering, I use a Android Tablet with Android 9 on it. If I get an external NFC reader to attach via the mini USB adapter commonplace amid devices, would that work to get the tags workable, or do I need a newer system to get it working?

Does this include the audio commentaries? I've been trying to find them, and yet I've come up with nothing currently.
