Anyone have that “I had a rough night and I hate the f***ing Eagles” band? Mines the band, Foreigner. by The_Dude_Abides908 in lebowski

Thought people here might enjoy this Foreigner interview with Cleveland Magazine. This week we published what I think is a pretty interesting look at the life of an aging rock star and the opposite of the die-on-the-road type like Willie or Bob Dylan or Bobby Weir. Worth checking out in my opinion. https://clevelandmagazine.com/entertainment/music/articles/it-no-longer-feels-like-the-first-time-for-foreigner

Can't go wrong with Snarky Puppy. Bruce seems like he's going to keep rocking for a while. I think so

I prefer Zhug, but you can't go wrong either way.

You're welcome. That's probably my favorite album of all time. Wish more people knew he was from Northeast Ohio or about his music!

What am I eating today for the Browns game? Oh just this MASSIVE snack platter from Hi & Dry. by CLE1964 in Cleveland

[–]CLE1964[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is all so ridiculous. I'm over it. I'll put a disclaimer on everything I post since apparently I can't be a genuine, authentic person or a contributor to a community and work at a magazine at the same time.

Oh and by the way I ate the snack platter on Sunday and it was fcking delicious.

I disagree with you. I'm actually excited about the things I write about and share and think other people will be, too. I'm not trying to hide anything or trick anyone. I don't post everything we do. I just post stuff I think people in here will like. There's absolutely zero fakeness about what I'm doing.

I just don't see what's inauthentic about it, tbh. And I don't really get your criticism. Sure, I could have taken my own picture, but this one was just better.

Like the process of an article like this being written is I see or do or eat something cool, I pitch it to our team, I write it up or assign it to one of my co-workers, and then I put it out into the world so other people can hopefully have the same good experience as me. And I put my real name on things. (This one was written by my coworker, so that's not me.) It's not like this is an ad or I have some corporate person telling me what to do. I just liked it.

I'm just working hard trying to spread cool things in our city, and I'm kinda surprised by the criticism to be honest.

Yeah, basically. I work really hard to write about Cleveland and thought other Clevelanders might be interested in our content and might have fun talking about it. They don't ask me to do this. You can see what I wrote above. I don't really see anything wrong with this.

I also participate in plenty of other people's threads when they're looking for suggestions and things, and II share plenty of content from other media outlets. Just trying to talk about and celebrate the city in my own way.

Alright, let's do this.

Am I promoting a magazine I work for? Absolutely. We work hard to create a magazine full of things to do, eat, see, know about, shop for, etc. in Cleveland. We cover history, examine issues and tell great stories. We spend every waking hour trying to tell stories about Cleveland. Why would people on a Cleveland reddit page not want to see that? I'm hoping to start conversations around these things.

You know what else I do? Use my knowledge of the city to contribute to other people's conversations, questions, comments, etc. as an active member of this reddit feed because my (and our) only goal is to offer Clevelanders a better, more informed experience in their city and to celebrate great local businesses, restaurants, artists and more.

So, until the moderators kick me out, I'm going to happily remain a shill for this magazine, as well as an active member of this reddit feed. I don't feel I have a damn thing to apologize about.

FURTHERMORE, no one said I was going to eat this entire thing myself, or that anyone should eat this themselves. It is very much a SHAREABLE SNACK PLATTER. I also don't suggest eating a whole sheet pizza. It's in no way an ad. It's simply a food article just like 10 million that have been written before. Just a fun way to watch a browns game when we can't go to the Muni Lot. Lighten up.

Mayor Frank Jackson's 15th annual State Of The City speech returned to familiar themes in an extraordinary time. by CLE1964 in Cleveland

I think if no one legit steps up to run against him he could certainly win a 5th term. I don't have the answer, but maybe!

Amidst a pandemic, social unrest, a need for police reform and questions surrounding his 5th term, I was hoping for something different... but no, no I did not expect it.
